Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Apple and Bamboo rushed up to Alyssia, Bamboo standing back a little and watching concernedly as Apple placed a talon behind Alyssia, lifting her up slightly into a sitting position. She bent her head close and inhaled, smelling blood immediately. Her scales began appearing lime green at the edges. Fear was painting a scene on her scales, and since she couldn't control it perfectly yet, it was probably all too evident to everyone else that she was afraid right now.
Apple snapped out of her mental trance and began commanding the situation. "Someone bring me moss or anything that can soak up liquid. I'll need some help; Bamboo, get water and bring it to me in an extremely large cupped leaf. I'll need some strong leaves as well."
She pointed her head at where she knew Whitestar was. "Whitestar, I need a little bit of ice. In case anything goes wrong and we have to cool her body temperature down quickly, I'll need some close by." She said decisively, shuffling to the side as Bamboo came back to her side quickly with water.
Bamboo was serious again. It was life or death for this poor human, and he placed the large water-filled leaf down on the ground. "What can I do?" He asked, with a sure edge to his voice.
"Pick her up and gently place her in the leaf. Keep her head above water. Keep her in there for only a few seconds, make sure some of the blood is rinsed off her body so that I can figure things out more."
Bamboo tapped her twice on the talon.
Yep.
He did as instructed, hoping everything would be okay... but with his sister controlling things, he knew there wasn't too much to be afraid of.
He glanced over at Whitestar. There seemed to be a war in his expressions, and he was standing still for a second, not having done what Apple said.
"Whitestar!" He snapped, an extremely rare annoyance creeping into his usually bubbly demeanor. "Do what my sister told you, she knows what she's doing!"
From the look on Whitestar's face, he had misread the situation. Whitestar wasn't doubting Apple's ability, he was mentally arguing with himself.
He looked away. "Sorry. What I meant is; do whatever you know will be best for Alyssia. If that's something you know we don't, then do it. But if it's what Apple needs, please help us."
Apple brushed her tail against Bamboo's, and he took a deep breath. Her unspoken chiding was right; arguing wouldn't help.
Whitestar jolted at Bamboo's sharp words, yanking himself back to the present. Ice... his mind took a moment to come around. Shoot--ice. Right. He turned back toward the pool and limped quickly down the sandy bank. He bent his head down to the water, blasting ice over the top of the pool and freezing the surface. He slammed a talon down on the ice, shattering the crystalline surface with a large splash. Whitestar scooped a talon full of the thick glassy crystals and carried them awkwardly back to where Apple and Bamboo were. He carefully set them down on the grass, looking down at Alyssia with a pang of worry. He glanced at Apple and then over his shoulder at Bamboo.
I can't tell them. But there has to be a way to help Alyssia. I have to do something...
He carefully shifted closer to Apple, his heart pounding as he ducked his head to whisper to her so no one else could hear.
"I think there is something I could do to help... if you think you've got this though, I don't need to..." he trailed off, taking a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart.
What am I doing? No one can know, no matter how innocent this Rainwing is. There is always some risk.
Whitestar stared at Alyssia. But this is an emergency. He pressed a cold talon against his head. Eclipse, I wish you were here now.
Alyssia could hear dull sounds around her. Soft thumping and rustling made it to her ears and she tried to open her eyes, but they wouldn't obey. She felt something grab her and then felt cool liquid all around her. The feeling transported her back to her home islands. Oh! It must've been a dream then..... She drifted off into thinking about the sandy beaches and the beautiful waves. The sun warming her skin and the sound of her friends shouting as they surfed along the wall-like waves. She pictured herself swimming in the deep blue water. Then, her mind drifted to the aquas that she had seen in the water all those years ago and then just a few days before. A few days before....wait! She was gaining more and more of her consciousness and she remembered the day's activities. No! No, don't go! She cried as the images she had conjured up of her homeland began to slip away. She could hear louder voices now. She couldn't understand much of what they were saying, but she could recognize their voices. The dragons.
She groaned slightly and tried to move. She regretted it immediately. The pain in her arm had grown to a constant dulling pain, but it was sharp if she moved it. She opened her eyes slightly to see Apple standing over her. A confused look made its way to her face as she realized that she was in a leaf full of water. She looked down at her arm and saw the blood being taken off slightly by the water. She closed her eyes again as the light got too much.
"Apple...." she croaked.

“Oh blazes, blazes!” He cursed, ramming himself into the cage wall. “I can’t fight him, I won’t
fight him.” He told himself. But the humans had a different idea. They wheeled him away and Crest soon was out of sight. A long stick held by the humans shot something straight into his scales. A needle fell from him as he shook it off. whipping his tail around, he batted the needle away and it nearly impaled a nearby human. Suddenly he could feel his fire reigniting inside him, slowly but surely. “You foolish pests! When I find him and get out of here, you’ll be sorry you were ever born.” He shouted, his firey eyes staring straight into the lead humans. He snarled low and deep.
“looks like you’re ready for a fight, King Helios.” The human said with mock respect.
"I swear you WILL die by my claws if you force me to fight him, you imbecilic little rodent creatures!!" Crest bellowed at them. A few of the humans stepped back, frightened at his tone, but that last one stood, arms folded and grin on his face.
"Tell you what, lizard. If you survive this next fight, you can rip me to shreds all you want." He laughed and his buddies joined in, not afraid anymore, now that they're buddy had stood up to the dragon. Crest growled as they continued wheeling his cage down the hall and then into another longer hallway. He examined everything as they went, trying to memorize all the different ways they were going. This is like a maze. They finally stopped at the end of a long hallway that had a grated gate at the end of it. Through the bars, he could see a large area of sand and above it he could make out seats.
And, lots of people in them. Oh boy. I didn't think that they would have us fight so soon. The cage started to crank open and Crest tensed to pounce on them. A sharp pain flashed through him and he remembered the electric sticks the humans had. He grimaced and followed their directions out of the cage.
The sticks prodded him towards the opening of the hall and Crest looked back, "I thought you said you were gonna give me water!"
The man smirked, "Oh yeah! I did say that didn't I." He gestured for one of his friends to push a bowl of water over to him, the water splashing out as it slid. Crest thrusted his face into the bowl and in seconds it was dry. He looked up, feeling only slightly better.
"You know this isn't enough for me," he growled.
The man just chuckled and turned to open the cage door. Crest felt his fear rising, but he shoved it back down. He had to do this. He couldn't lose. But at the same time...he couldn't harm a member of a royal family. That could result in war. All these thoughts swirled in his head as he ducked into the large arena. Sand was all that there was in this arena, and Crest looked up towards the blinding artificial lights. Well, at least they're cooler than the sun. He looked around at all the spectators in the stands. Just maybe.... He didn't see anyone that he recognized and took his gaze back to his arena, getting a feel for the area and what he could use in it. The humans were screaming and cheering for the dragons. Oh I know why you're cheering. Don't think I don't know that you all want to see me DEAD! His anger was beginning to build up and he was finding it hard to control. I need more water. He shook his head back to reality and glared at many of the humans in the stands until his gaze fell to the opposing gate. Fear took hold of him again as he realized that the match was only a few minutes away, and that these humans expected one of them to get severely injured....or even die.

Heavy breathing filled his ears as he ran...no bicycled...down the road. I'm back in my hometown? Screams filled his ears as he rode down the road. He felt himself leave his bike and dive for a bush, but he wasn't in control. He felt scared and helpless. He shut his eyes tight and hoped to wake up back home. What home? This is supposed to be home right? He opened his eyes and found himself in the Scorpion Den. He was in front of a dragon, the pleading in its eyes evident as he pulled out his electric swords and drove it into the side of the cloudwing. The dragon convulsed several times and then Austin put the sword at highest voltage and the dragon went still after a shrill scream from it. He walked away, and Austin felt the smile on his face grow wider. The pleasure evident.
A blue dragon swooped in front of him and stood there facing him. The blue/green eyes angered and ready to attack. Austin went to pull out his swords, but felt nothing. They were gone. What! His heart began racing and looked back at the dragon. He was charging Austin with fangs bared and he leapt towards him. Austin couldn't move. He was glued to the spot and he watched in fear as the dragon wrapped its claws around Austin's throat and pinned him to the ground. The crazy look in the seawing's was unmistakable. I should've given him more water... He shook his head and looked into the eyes of the crazed dragon. No! Austin, this is a dragon. It deserved everything you did to it. He glared into the dragon's eyes. "Go ahead, you freakish lizard. Finish it," he spat. The dragons jaws opened and struck in a blink of an eye.
Austin sat up with a start. Sunlight shone through palm trees all around him and he was lying on the cold, wet ground. Wait, wet? The events that had just taken place came back to him. His head pounded and the light started to hurt his eyes. He tried to get up, but his aching body told him to stay for a few more minutes. I may not have a few more minutes. Though, they haven't killed me yet, so I'm assuming they need me. He reasoned. I stood there in a seated position and looked around. He saw a green dragon running around frantically and a red one stood looking worried over...something. He wasn't close enough to make out what it was. A majestic white dragon stood over something and looked panicked. They were all stressed about something but Austin couldn't make out what it was. Then, the green dragon moved and Austin took a sharp breath. A girl? A human girl? Is it the one named Jasmine? He tried to get up. They're gonna kill her. These dragons took out the whole caravan. And me for crying out loud! Who knows what they'll do to her. He struggled to get up but eventually got to his feet and tried to make his way over to the tree line to create a plan. He reached for his weapons, but didn't feel anything.
"What?" he mumbled. "Where on earth?" He looked around and couldn't find anything even remotely resembling his weapons. They must've taken them. He looked up in fear, realizing that the dragons would've noticed by now that he was awake. Taking a defensive position, he waited for them, slowly backing towards the trees.
As he was backing towards the trees, he heard a growl from behind him. He looked up to see the nightwing standing menacingly, keeping watch...of him. His feet stopped moving and Austin backed up the other way away from the dragon. The sounds of the frantic dragons behind him told him that they hadn't noticed him yet, but this dragon certainly had. He stared down the nightwing as he listened to what the other dragons were saying. Are they trying to help the human? The chatter about supplies rang in Austin's ears and didn't feel right to him. Dragons are heartless and terrible. Why would they be trying to help someone from the caravan they attacked.
Taking his eyes off of the black dragon for a moment, he looked back towards the human girl and realization dawned on him. That's not Miss Jasmine....that's that other girl! The one that was panicking when, he stopped, almost slapping a palm on his face from his stupidity, she came right before the attack. Very clever. She must be with them. That's why they're trying to save her. But, still....why would her dragons try to save her. If she dies, then they're free.
His questions swirled in his head and he took a step closer to the girl. I wonder if she's ok. Maybe they are actually trying to kill her. He heard another growl behind him and spun around to face the nightwing. "I'm just trying to see if I can help her ok." He looked the dragon up and down and confirmed what he thought before to be true. "And, why do you care so much about helping her anyway, Blackout!?" He snapped again, "Also, by the way, why didn't you come back to the Scorpion Den after the attack huh?!"

Eclipse turned in surprise as the Nightwing--no. Leafwing?--spoke. At first glance, the dragon was dark enough to be a Nightwing, but her wings were more leaf-shaped and dark green, almost black. Up close, Eclipse could see she was actually a glossy, dark-grown, like dark oak wood, with lighter highlights. She almost looked like a perfectly carved wooden sculpture.
Eclipse dipped her head politely to the dragoness. "And I am honored to be among others who are willing to fight for our freedom. My name is Eclipse," she gave the dark dragon a small smile.
(Ooh, dark-grown. Gotta say it grr-ow-nnnn 👌👌🤘😝✋.)

"Door." Tobias headed to the exit, trying to rush Eclipse along as he motioned to the doorway. Vel, honorary door keeper, saluted Tobias, flinging the door open.

As the two exchanged greetings, Rose could tell that they had a high level of respect for each other, or at least she hoped it was that way. “You may call me Rose.”

Helios was wheeled into a corridor, bars separated him from the arena and he could see the Seawing, Crest, out on the sand. A waft of heat pulsed thru him as his fire began to return, the bulbs of light on his back glowing increasingly as time passed. His cage was opened remotely and the bars slid up, allowing him into the arena. As he strode slowly in, he could see the crowd of humans higher above the arena, a few older dragons and dragonets had attended as well. As he looked back out at the sand, Crest seemed disoriented and confused.
“Seawing. We can’t fight each other, you’ve no chance against me. They want you dead.” He whispered loud enough for him to hear. “We have to fake it, follow my lead.” He finished, watching Crest for any signs of agreement.

Right! Off we are then, no time for introductions, Mr. Tobias.”
She said almost sarcastically, placing the vials back safely into her bags and following the group out into the hallway.

I wonder if they will ever be friends, maybe just "frienemies" or if Sunspot will go her own way after all this. They are so much fun to rp together, because Sunspot is so sassy and just frustrates everyone and anyone, and Eclipse is so short-tempered and gets annoyed so easily, but she can also counter Sunspot pretty well sometimes.
Sunspot has a very impulsive and fiery personality in stark contrast to Eclipse's cold but passionate one. They are like, the perfect example of the vastly contrasting but perfectly balanced pair of Sun and Moon
Yessss. And they’ve had their moments where they make a really great team :>

She said almost sarcastically, placing the vials back safely into her bags and following the group out into the hallway.
Tobias laughed politely, "Yeah, yea, sorry.. Wull, most people already know me." He repositioned his hat. "Do we need to hurry? Also- how dangerous is this? Like, going to your lab- should I be, like, shooting people?" He gave her a stupid look, hoping his sarcasm wasn't accurate.

Crest watched the large solarwing enter the arena. He could almost feel the heat pulsing off of him as he came closer. Crest laughed slightly when Helios said they wanted him dead. Yeah, I figured that out when I got here. Crest's head tilted slightly at the king's plan to fake the fight. Hmmmm, maybe this could work. If we fake it, then we could both get out of here alive and maybe even find a way to escape after this.
Looking back at the crowd, he looked at the solarwing king and let a roar rip through the air. Some of the spectators hastily plugged their ears from the volume. After giving the king a slight nod, Crest entered into one of his fighting stances he was taught in his training class. He tensed his back legs, ready to pounce. His wings were opened slightly for any arial attacks he might make or use to avoid. The king came closer and Crest could feel the overpowering heat. The world twisted and turned, Crest blinked several times to clear his vision. Finally, he gave his head a good shake to try and clear the ongoing headache he'd been having. He focused his attention on the solarwing and gave another slight nod. I'm ready...show me what to do.

Whitestar looked sharply up at the sound of the pitchy voice yelling at Blackout, alarm spiking along his scales. The hunter knew him? Whitestar narrowed his eye at the two of them and slid closer, standing between the hunter and Alyssia. Understandably, Blackout had been in the den for years, and it wasn't too unlikely that the hunter might know of him. But the way the human shouted at him sounded like the hunter knew him personally. A funny coincidence that he should end up here with Blackout now. Whitestar watched the two of them cautiously, trying not to let his suspicion show too much.
