"No." Tobias replied, leaning around the corner slightly. "We keep fighting. Get that shield up, Eclipse."

Eclipse moved the shield out in front of Tobias again, crouching low to stay behind the human as he started firing again. A large piece of the edge broke off and whizzed through the air, stopping just before hitting the wall and darting back.
Most of the damage wasn't quite as bad, but Eclipse was constantly having to recollect the sharps and cement them back on while keeping the shield in place at the same time. The concentration was barely starting to give her a headache.
"Just stay away from the edges if you can," she growled through clenched teeth, flinching as a ricochet bullet grazed her leg.

Gables panted, leaning against the wall as Monzy bustled into the lot, maybe fifty, eighty dragons close behind him.
So close. They were so close to escaping.
Gables puffed out his cheeks, slowly blowing through his lips as he made his way towards Monzy.
"This is not everyone." He said pointedly.
Monzy shook his head, trying to catch his breath as more dragons ran past him. "No. We lost everyone out of Aurora's group."
"No." Gables whispered, but Monzy nodded, wiping sweat from him brow.
"Get them out of here." Monzy suddenly said, his tone quite harsh. "Get 'em out!"

He pried a machine gun from the dead man's hands, shouldering the weapon, and leaping back to his feet. The shield continues to splinter, and Eclipse continued to patch, but he could tell her concentration was going. "Go, back, back." He dove into another hall, wrestling with the magazine clip, which had inconveniently jammed. "Give me cover, gimme cover." He growled, slamming the gun against the wall and successfully freeing the clip.

Bloodmoon stayed behind with the rest of the group and watched Tobias and Eclipse battling. He sensed Eclipse's concentration and looked around for something, anything to give her time to rest. A wheely thingymabob was parked 20 feet behind him and he whirled around, picked it up, and ran to Tobias and Eclipse. Ignoring a pain in his ear, he placed it down in front of them. It didn't block the passageway, but it gave them enough cover.

Eclipse lept into the hall after Tobias, her tail whipping painfully against the corner as she did. Tobias was struggling with a stolen weapon, and even though they were out of sight, the gunfire continued, and Eclipse shielded them both with her wing as a spray of shattered concrete broke off the opposite side of the wall.
She heard shouting in the hall again, followed by the sound of bullets connecting with metal. She glanced up, jumping slightly when she nearly bumped snouts with Bloodmoon. In all the chaos and noise, she hadn't heard him approach.
Eclipse hovered the shield on the other side of the transport Bloodmoon was using for cover, providing an extra layer of protection from the weapons.
"Hurry up," she growled to Tobias, who slammed his weapon against the wall with a small growl.
