Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Do you wanna send the Ultimate Mercenary and The Ultimate Lifeform after them yet?
(It's an inside joke, don't ask, lol)
I can arrange to have Alicanto get assigned his mission and then come for Gen and Ajax for the assignement
Yes. I'm thinking maybe they are all developed by and come from different organizations, adding to the contrasting competition between them.

Holy shoot, y'all really wrote last night. Gosh. 😵‍💫 Guess my mornings booked 😏🫡

Lies. It was you lot talking about going to sleep, dadgummit. I thought we made p r o g r e s s, but apparently that was Gree's job. I am thoroughly impressed with your writing, Gree, I was definitely not expecting that. It ran very smooth.

Also, apologies, my parts are not well thought-out on account of me having no brain, and also due to lack of sleep. I'm in Colombia for a month, so I think I'll slip into a habit, but every day is thoroughly exhausting.

Aaaand, anyone notice anything in my writing that doesn't.. sound good? Please tell me. Cliche tropes? Tell me tell me tell meeeee.

“Ahhh… my favorite freak of nature,” Vulture said, malevolent slitted yellow eyes glinting. “I do in fact have an assignment for you.” He shifted, his long black tail dragging across the floor with a hissing, rustling noise, like a bed of dragon bite vipers getting disturbed.

Vulture raised one talon, inspecting his long black claws in a bored manner, one by one. “Did you know that I have a grandson?” He said conversationally, yellow eyes flicking to meet Sage’s with a cold intensity. “Spawn of my traitorous snake of a daughter.” The huge black CloudWing clenched his talon into a fist with a hiss that seemed to come from all directions.

He didn’t wait for Sage to answer. “I have reason to believe that my grandson is residing in one of the Nests in the old Sky Kingdom,” Vulture continued. “Spies and all, you know?” He spoke slowly and as if he hadn’t a care in the world.

“I think my grandson could be useful to the cause. Another… inner talon to keep an eye on things in the Nests, yes? I want you to find him. And I want you to convince him to join us. Don’t harm the kid, just… use whatever means to convince him to turn against their little peaceful Nests and teach him about the true cause.”

Vulture leaned close, his claws raking across his throne with a teeth grating shriek. “Got it, my little abomination?”
Sage stood silently listening to what Vulture was saying to him. He'd interrupted the huge black dragon before, and it had not ended well for him. The scientist was the only one who convinced Vulture to keep him alive, and that was because of his usefulness in the cause.
"Did you know I have a grandson?" Vulture's voice hissed out. He met his yellow eyes and chills tried to climb their way up Sage's back. No matter how many times he saw the dragon's eyes, they would always give him the shivers. He braced his body and didn't let the shivers show. "Spawn of my traitorous snake of a daughter."
Such a loving family... Patiently, he listened to the description of his mission. Vulture dragged it out like it was a conversation they were having...though Sage wasn't saying anything in return.
"Don't harm the kid, just... use whatever means to convince him to turn against their little peaceful Nests and teach him about the true cause." Thoughts filled Sage's mind. Ways to manipulate, ways to convince. Plans already began to form.
Slowly, the giant black dragon leaned in towards Sage. He could feel the hot breath from the dragon. His claws screeched against his throne, but Sage just stood stalk still, not feeling the shivers it brought to him.
"Got it, my little abomination?"
Sage paused for a moment, assessing the mission. The "abomination" comment flitted in his mind but like always, he didn't feel it. His feelings were shoved to the back of his mind instinctively. Still straight faced, he nodded at Vulture. "Yes, sir. I will do this. He will join you....trust me."
He looked into Vulture's eyes, waiting to be dismissed.

Kapok peaked his head out of the now opened transport, blinking it the sharp morning light.
There were dragons and humans all over the space in front of the caves that riddled the side of the small mountain. He saw King Helios disappear into one of the caves, and there was a cluster of Icewings hiding in another. Food and first aid were being provided to every dragon that came off the transport, and the dragons were directed to small tarps or caves to rest in the shade and be fed or tended to.
Kapok's tail shuddered in excitement and he turned to look back into the emptying transport expectantly at Shrike, who was hanging back a bit, Dred standing a little ways behind him.

“Well, you go ahead,” Shrike urged halfheartedly, stepping out of the transport cautiously and glancing around with raised feathers.

“Uhhh…” Phoenix hesitated, looking down and fiddling with her claws. “He’s not talking to me. I don’t know where he went.” she swished her tail slowly across the floor, scattering pebbles.
King frowned, a puzzled expression on his face. “Maybe I should go look for him…” he pondered.
The yawn was contagious, and even though Eclipse tried to stifle one of her own, she couldn't help it, her jaws opening wide and teeth glittering.
She snapped her snout shut as soon as it passed with a satisfying snap, before laying her head on her talons once again, her eyelids drooping.
"Yeah, as long as I finally get to sleep for once, I don't care how long this trip is."
She glanced over at Bloodmoon and Shard. The Icewing dragonet was almost close enough to the Nightwing to touch him, and Eclipse worried how he might react if he woke up and found her there. Bloodmoon was huge compared to the scrawny little dragonet, and there wasn't much Eclipse could think of that would stop him from injuring her if she startled or angered him.
Her thoughts were drifting again, and she hadn't even realized her eyes had completely closed. Already she could feel sleep pulling at her mind and she heaved a long sigh.
"You don't have to do everything alone you know," she muttered to Sunspot, her words quiet and a little slurred together.
"Just because we are all different tribes, doesn't mean we are anything less than dragons."
Eclipse had already slid into sleep before she could find out if Sunspot replied.

How dare you make me yawn 😤
"Right, a- absolutely." Sol agreed quickly. His gaz lifted when the roar of an engine echoed through the sand ridden valley. Tobias could be in that transport. But the last one wasn't due in for a couple hours yet. Trying to keep his hopes low, Sol turned back to Helios. "So- are you going.. to go back home? After this?"
Helios nodded, “Yes of course, the Kingdom can’t stand to lose another Solarwing. After you and Tasha were….taken, moral dropped and even more citizens left to become wanderers. They feared another attack, like that one, would wipe us out.” He answered. “We have several alliances now, the Skywings and Mudwings. Even a pack of Snowwings living near our borders have agreed to an alliance.” He explained, hoping that maybe having alliances and other dragons to help in case of an attack would help Sol make the decision to come home.
One of the guards held the elevator door open, motioning Rose inside, the humans following. Ferrin's prediction was incorrect- Tobias was still responsive. His breathing was even. His eyes, awake. But his strength and energy were no longer present.
As the elevator began to move, Ferrin studied the two again. Now that they were standing, he realized Gables was taller than Tobias, he had maybe three or four inches on the man.
The elevator halted, the doors sliding open. Gables started out of the elevator, and Tobias faltered, knuckles white as he clung to Gables' shirt. "I'm gonna throw up." Fortunately he had a moment to get his bubbling stomach under control as Rose hobbled out of the elevator.
"Tobias, I've got to keep walking." Gables warned him as the group started down the hall.
Tobias gave a tired nod, now fully unable to keep his feet beneath himself. Gables slid an arm beneath Tobias' legs, picking him up in strong arms. Tobias proceeded to faint, and Gables grunted, his dead weight significantly harder to manage.
Ferrin kept his focus on Rose, trying to calm his nerves. He relaxed as they entered into the truck yard. A truck waited for Rose. A limousine waited for the humans. The guards helped load Rose into the truck.
Gables waited to follow Ferrin's lead, confused as the guards left the truck yard, leaving just Gables, Tobe, and Ferrin as Rose's truck pulled out.
"What- what are we waiting for, Ferr?" Gables asked hesitantly.
Ferrin rolled his eyes, "No nicknames, Gabe. Driver's late."
"Driver?"
"I don't drive." Ferrin drawled in a bored tone. He move to Gables side, pushing Tobias' sweaty hair back, placing the back of his fingers across Tobias' forehead. He frowned.
"You can't drive?" Gables asked quietly.
"I never said anything of the sort."

(Okay, okay, WAT IF the Austin and Alyssa and Whitestar and the, uh, other ones I can never remember group find them waiting or something, and then maybe they have questions about what happened last night, I dunno, but if we can finally connect the groups in some way, that would be sick.)

Yeeeaaahhh 🤘😝

@KEVIN!!
Rose stepped slowly into the truck, thankful that it had slits in the metal and an open top other then the heavy metal grate across at least one side, meaning it would have good airflow.
The doors closed and she immediately lie down, having to hold her mouth shut to avoid roaring from the sudden sharp pain in her leg. The pain eased up and she took several short, shuddering breaths. As the vehicle started moving she shut her eyes, curling into a ball and leaving her injured leg spread out. She ran her tongue along the corners of her mouth, tasting the scorched flesh and spitting the ashy saliva onto the floor of the trailer. “Why’d they have to take my bags…” She thought angrily.

(Dred was flying, but I’ll make it work!)

Dred had finally spotted the truck with his teammates in it and soared down on unsteady wings. He landed outside the truck with a thump, crashing into the side of it slightly and making it rock back and forth a few times. “Oops. Not great at flying, sorry.” He said with a grin.
