Harnessing your inner pain makes the effects last longer
“Great, another thing that they chose me for,” Ajax growled under his breath. He continued to glare at the dragon, his anger radiating off of his scales."Well, since you obviously weren't paying attention, we are all supposed to be hunting some fugitives who escaped after the rebellion breakout this morning." He set his talon back on the ground, leveling his gaze on the red dragon.
"I was instructed to meet with a pair of dragons from separate research facilities. My superiors want to split the reward and they needed a more efficient strategy." He wrinkled his snout at the dragon and glanced at the Rainwing hybrid with a small scoff.
"Although, I'm beginning to question their ideas of 'efficient.'"
Gen cocked his head, slowly turning his gaze to Alicanto. "I understand what must be done."Alicanto raked his gaze over the two dragons, a sneer curling on the corners of his mouth.
These are the dragons the professor wants me to work with? Either this Rainwing mutation is too dumb to speak or too scared. Either way, it's underwhelming.
"So, do you two actually know what you're doing, or do I have to explain the entire gist of bounty hunting?"
Perhaps the red one had at least a vague idea of how to fight and hunt like a real soldier, but to Alicanto, the Rainwing hybrid looked dumb as a doornail. He suppressed a growl of frustration. The dumb ones were always the most annoying.

Ah, lo siento, I got lost writing. See, I can't believe it took me that long.
“Great, another thing that they chose me for,” Ajax growled under his breath. He continued to glare at the dragon, his anger radiating off of his scales.
Alicanto rolled his deep blue eyes.Gen cocked his head, slowly turning his gaze to Alicanto. "I understand what must be done."
Gen opened his wings, flapping furiously as he caught up with Alicanto. Some distant emotion made his stomach flip, and with a sudden, sharp twist, the dragon glanced down, shifting to match his surroundings as bile coated his tounge.Alicanto rolled his deep blue eyes.
"So are we gonna stand here all day chatting, or can we move out? 'Cause if you two would rather socialize, I can take care of this mission alone."
He didn't wait for a response, only turned sharply and launched himself into the air, sending dust and sand swirling into the air where he had been standing. Angling his wings, Alicanto turned in the direction of the city's Northeastern highway, running the pictures and descriptions from the clipboard the professor had given him through his mind.
Two men. One held a much lower position in the Den's hierarchy; A low-class nobody. He wasn't worth much to bring in. Collateral.
But the other was a name most everyone in the Den knew, including Alicanto. The Cloudwing had seen his Solarwing fight before, and he was pretty sure every single being in the Den had heard of the Lunarwing auction earlier that week, as well as the deadly fights that the Solarwing had fought.
A dark smile spread across Alicanto's face at the thought of what this mission could mean for him. Soon, everyone would hear about the hunt, and Alicanto would be right in the middle of it all. He glared out toward the stretch of black cement beneath him, running his plan again through his mind.
Maybe this time, the hunters would finally respect him. The Ultimate Mercenary. The greatest assassin in the Den. The dragon who brought down the rebellion.
And with it, one of the most well-known dragon fighters in the Den.

Ajax let out a loud, grumbling sigh as he lifted up into the air. His four clear wings flapped several times. After a small debate on if he should come with Alicanto, Ajax decided that he would follow. He soared next to Alicanto, a scowl on his face. He steered carefully so he wouldn’t bump into him.Alicanto rolled his deep blue eyes.
