Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Sol gave a forced smile, opened his wings, and leapt into the air, shaking unsteadily as he soared before the jagged mouth of the cavern. He gave the shadowed desert one last glance before he entered the cavern. His own shadow stretching across the rocky sand, Sol could see his tormented heart obvious in his demeanor, but maybe that was a good thing- he could finally show weakness, could finally be a regular dragon with regular emotions and regular reactions. But this wasn't his regular self. No, his regular self was long gone, drowned in misery and hope he presumed to be false. But Sol let himself cling to the hope, the small spark claiming that Tobias was on his way, and that he was alive, and that- despite Sol's horrid, prominent emotions -all would be well.
Eclipse almost followed Sol into the air, jolting to a stop just before she was about to launch herself off the ledge. The movement made her lose her balance and she teetered on the crumbling stone platform for a second before scrambling backwards, watching Sol glide unsteadily to the ground as a jolt of envy tore through her heart.
It's fine Eclipse, you aren't grounded forever. Just don't push yourself. It's fine.
She dropped onto the rocky slope, opening her wings to help balance and slow her controlled sliding as she made her way down the incline, stopping on rocky clefts and boulders regularly on the way down. She lept off the slope several wing lengths from the ground, landing heavily in the sand and stumbling clumsily forward a little.
Eclipse blinked up at the late afternoon sun. The moons would be rising in a few hours, and her mind wandered again to the journey she had missed during Imperials full. The days had flown by with all the excitement and stress. She had thrown every bit of mental and physical energy into surviving and escaping the Den, and every night she had fallen asleep too fast to devote any time to random thoughts. As she turned to follow Sol into the dimly lit cavern, she couldn't help but wonder what her disappearance had done to Whitestar.
He'd probably come looking for me. But would he even know where to look? Would he immediately think the Scorpion Den had something to do with it?
She shuddered at the thought.
What if he did go there? What if he's there now? Would he get desperate enough to use his power to find out where I went? Or for anything else? Did another dragon find out? Queen Iceberg even? Or worse--the humans?
She stopped suddenly, just within the main cavern of the large cave, and turned to stare back down the tunnel toward the desert, panic rising in her chest.
Stop it Eclipse.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her pounding heart and forcing the spines on her back to lie flat again.
He's probably still on the island. Or maybe he is on the continent. But he's probably safe.
I hope.

Sol trotted into the large, circular area, where most of the dragons and humans had gathered, eating, sleeping, talking. He studied the individual groups, catching the eye of a familiar LeafWing. His ears perked up and he straightened, having recognized the dragon from the arena. Sol felt multiple stares from all angles as he paced slowly towards the center of the cave-like structure. So many dragons must recognize him from the arena. Sol shivered, replacing the guilt with pride, though he let his tail drag, his wings sag- Tobias still plagued his mind, and he struggled to focus on the present. He retrieved a small chicken from a smooth rock face where a wide array of food had been placed. Sol turned back to the cave of dragons, a low mumble echoing against the solid walls as both dragons and humans conversed.
A large SandWing brushed his shoulder with a low hiss as he passed by, and Sol felt his jaw lock as he resisted the urge to retaliate. Sidestepping away from the dragon, he kept his expression even, his head respectfully low. "Wow. Did you really need to come here?" The SandWing growled, his voice coarse and deep. "Did you really need waste space? Nahhh, I don't think so."
Sol gave a cool, quick nod of acknowledgement, once again hiding behind arrogance. The SandWing hissed, lumbering back to wherever he had came from, and Sol scoffed, rolling his eyes.
He spotted the LeafWing across the cave, keeping his expression calm and even as he waited with an air of patience for her to meet his gaze- whether she would give him a sign of welcoming or not.

(@SarcasticDrag0n, Sol is a good guy, but he only knows the Scorpion Den, so his beliefs are askew. He's stupid famous in The Den, so a lot of dragons will know him and hold grudges, and we can totally say Hibiscus and Sol are respected acquaintances, if you would like, but it's up to you, mate.)

[Yesss I would love that!!]
Hibiscus' neck prickled with the sensation of being watched. She looked up and met the eyes of a familiar deep red SolarWing, and her heart jumped.
"Sol!" she called over the hustle of the Den. She beckoned him over with a wave of her wing. She hadn't even thought about the fact that he was here.
The stares of the many dragons present in the cave turned on Sol and Hibiscus.

Sol grinned, relief keeping his worries at bay at he moved swiftly through the crowd, towards the green dragon. "Hey, hey! I'm glad you're here, Hibiscus." He said with a sigh, stopping at her side, truly grateful of the LeafWing's presence- a familiar acquaintance, who had led a very similar life.

(Ok I real Sol's info in the archives but I need some current info lol - is he still owned by a dragon fighting enthusiast and what not?)

😶💀 Yeah, yeah- but A LOT has changed since I first wrote both his and Tobias' bios, they developed into completely different characters as I wrote.
Sol was brainwashed and almost dead when Tobe rescued him, and nursed him back to health. Sol began to compete in the arena and grew in fame over the years.
Tobias is a human, and he's a good guy, but he also has some incorrect beliefs due to the Scorpion Den's influence.
He didn't make it out of the SD, staying back to stall as the last trucks were loaded and had pulled out. But an inside resource was able to get both him and Gables (another human dude) out and on their way to the Checkpoint- BUT they are being pursued by cRaZy assassin dragons. 💀
And they are a few hours ahead of our group, so basically we're just letting time pass back at the Checkpoint before we pick up their story again.

I am working on writing a story of how Tobe and Sol met, but, with Colombia, I've been buussyy, so, alas. :)

Alicanto smiled darkly as the vehicle crested a small dune directly beneath him.
Gen was still following close behind the transport, dipping between the dunes within the blindspots of the car--a very clever position. Ajax was still following Alicanto, who was gliding silently over the vehicle's path. He'd slowly dropped his elevation over the past several minutes, both to help catch up faster and to get within striking distance of the car.
This is too easy, he thought, stifling a chuckle. Might as well play with this one a bit.
He flared his wings upward to slow, pulling back a ways and tipping upward ever so slightly. Alicanto glanced briefly towards Gen, his deep blue eyes glittering menacingly in the moonlight before he folded his wings in and dove.
The vehicle shot towards him as the air whipped past his face, pinning his feathers against his sides and tugging at his kite-like tail. He snapped his wings apart a couple of wing lengths from the car, stopping to glide feet from it, adrenaline and gleeful excitement rippling through his veins as his wickedly curved black claws shot out in front of him. Silver light flashed onto the roof of the vehicle from his wings a split second before his claws stabbed into the roof, puncturing the thin metal and raking through the top of the car, an ear-splitting shriek tearing through the quiet night as the metal shredded beneath his claws.

(@_-Captain BRM-_, I am still gonna have @Commander Gree do his part with Ace before we get too crazy with this scene, and I will try to go slow with it so more time can pass back at the cavern)

Ah ok!! Thank you!!

Calla grabbed a juicy looking hunk of meat, sitting away from the other dragons. It was so relieving when Cas walked away to annoy a LeafWing dragoness. But she did catch herself staring at them while they talked several times.
Calla pushed the thoughts away and focused on ripping her ham into smaller chunks. When she heard the LeafWing yell “Sol”, Calla’s head popped up. She watched out of her blurry vision, recognizing the name. Sol was a very well known fighter in the ring. She was lucky enough to have never fought him.

Sick, I'm going to wait for Ace before I reply.
