Then it gets worse if Hibiscus picks up something for Sol, lol
Oh The Drama GIF by MOODMAN
I like Hibiscus. She contrasts SO hard with 90% percent of our characters because she's actually nice, even though she went through hard things.
BUT- that does not mean her and Sol and yadaayadaya.

Cuz. I hate writing romance.

Eclipse had let her thoughts wander a little to try and take her mind off her embarrassment when Sol turned back to her.
She stared at him for a moment, unsure how to respond. Honestly, she hadn't really thought about how long she would be looking after Shard. Subconsciously, she just assumed as long as she needed to. But how long that was exactly, was the real question.
But it was his compliment that really shocked her. Did she really have a kind heart? She'd been convinced most of her life that it was quite the opposite case. She was cold to dragons usually only for the need to keep them away from her, and sometimes, at the end of the day, she was afraid she might be a little too cold.
So hearing a dragon she'd only met a few days before tell her that they thought the complete opposite... she didn't know how to feel.
Eclipse realized that she had been holding Sol's gaze as her thoughts swirled around and she quickly shot her eyes to the ground, then back to Shard.
"I don't know," she said slowly. "With all the unrest with the humans, I can't think of anywhere I'd trust her to get taken care of." She rested a wing on the dragonet's shoulder without thinking.
"And I know someone who might be able to help, so, now that you mention it... I think I might."
Eclipse could hardly believe what she was saying, and from the look the Icewing gave her, she guessed Shard was probably equally as surprised.
The dragonet shuffled closer and pressed against Eclipse's side, more confidently than she ever had before. Eclipse wasn't sure what it was, but something in her wanted to do everything to protect the young dragoness. Something she couldn't put words to.

Sol studied the young, innocent dragonet. Shard.
He looked away.

The SolarWing swallowed back emotions. How could he just sit here? Tobias was out there. And what if. What if.
Sol stood, shaking sand from his wings as he paced towards the exit. He didn't think to tell the others where he was going. He was too lost in the warzone to do anything of the sort.
Sol knew leaving the cave was a terrible idea if he hoped to manage a sound mind. But he did not care.

The lovely night sky shone with millions of stars. Sol had never seen a sky with so many stars. He was in awe.
A short lived hope bloomed, and a peace washed through Sol's mind.
But horrid thoughts and emotions soon came clawing back, and he closed his eyes, slumping against the cavern wall.

Eclipse arched an eyebrow at the Skywing as he flailed backwards in a flurry of dramatic wailing. He was obviously messing around, judging by the smile on his face, but Eclipse noticed at least half the dragons in the cave shooting him condescending looks.
Now I'm glad I chose not to socialize, Eclipse thought, refocusing on her food and tearing a piece of rabbit meat away.
"What's that Skywing doing?" Shard had paused in her task of peeling and sucking on one of the mangos to stare at the red dragon. As a dragonet, it was unlikely she knew that staring was considered impolite.
Although you'd assume older dragons might have figured it out. She was still catching a few dragons here and there that didn't look away until she glared at them.
"He's just playing," Eclipse responded without looking up at the Skywing again.
Shard lifted a yellow-stained talon and pointed at Sol. "That's the Solarwing you were talking to. Do you like him? We should go sit with them."
Shard grabbed her untouched mango off the ground and before Eclipse could recover from the question, the Icewing was already bounding over to the group.
"Shard get back here!"
Eclipse stood up quickly but stayed where she was, feeling awkward as the dragonet padded straight up to Sol.

"You're Eclipse's friend right?" Shard said, without waiting for the Solarwing to look at her.

Eclipse quickly followed Shard, reaching out a wing instinctively to pull the dragonet back. She came to the group just in time to hear the Skywing's comment. "...The SUN? Does that mean you're hot and get all the girls? Yup, ohohoHO, you ARE hot! Becha got ladies wrapped around your tail!”
Eclipse gave the red dragon a skeptical look, glancing back at Sol and pulling Shard back to her side.
“Huh? Oh- sorry, sorry,” the Skywing muttered, glancing at the Leafwing.
“So you know Sol? How do you know him? Are you two...” He glanced between the other two expectantly, a toothy grin spreading across his red face.
Eclipse shuffled back a little, feeling ignored. Honestly, she was curious to hear the answer to the Skywing's remark, but it wasn't her conversation, and she didn't know these dragons. Sol was distracted now anyway, maybe he wouldn't notice her slip away.
"Oh! Oh no, definitely not, we're friends. We've known each other for ages."
Eclipse turned and began to pace away, listening vaguely to the Leafwing's quick response.

Hibiscus' eyes landed on a sleek silver dragon, the one with the dragonet. She offered her a smile. She'd been the one talking to Sol when Hibiscus had first arrived at the checkpoint, but she'd never caught her name.
Sol's wing was warm beside her's, and as Cas' earlier remarks rewound in her mind, she self consciously drew her wing away and back to her side.
Oh, Cas, she thought. You silly dragon!

Hibiscus had barely managed to stifle a gasp at Sol's cheeky words and she hid a giggle behind her wing.
Wow, what's got into him? she thought. She'd never heard him be so openly flirty.

Sol laughed, shaking his head, "You pick." He noticed her blush, and lifted his head, openly wincing as his aching muscles protested.
"I'm only kidding, Eclipse. But- I do want to distract myself from Tobias. I'm trying to, uh, focus on.." he slowly eased his head back onto the cold, stone floor, "something else."

Eclipse pulled her wings in tighter as the Leafwing started giggling behind her wing, making the Lunarwing blush even more.
"Um, well..." she glanced down at the Icewing dragonet at her side, who was just finishing nibbling on one of her mangos.
"This is Shard," she said, gesturing the dragonet forward. "I found her on the transport and well... I've kinda been looking after her, because her parents..." she trailed off, hoping the others understood without her having to say aloud what the Icewing might not completely understand.
Shard bounded up to Sol, her dark blue eyes glittering with excitement as if the introduction was permission to finally ask whatever questions she'd been wondering.
"Why do you have these scratches?" The dragonet pointed to the tail barb and claw slashes on Sol's side, then pulled her talon back shyly.
"That kinda looks like a Sandwing tail-thing did that. Did you fight a Sandwing?"

@_-Captain BRM-_

Sol couldn't help but wince as the IceWing reached her talon towards his left flank- but she didn't touch the healing wounds, which was a relief. Sol slowly pushed himself against the wall, repositioning so that he could still rest, but face the small dragonet. "I fought a SandWing." He agreed, with a blunt nod. "Wouldn't advise it." Sol glanced up at Eclipse, giving her a gentle smile when he noticed she was still blushing. Oh, why did she take his jesting so seriously? He lifted his wing, barely able to reach the silver dragon, "Eclipse, I really was joking. It's okay. Please don't be embarrassed."
He dropped his wing, watching the dragonet's inquisitive eyes wander over his scales. He did have quite a few scars. But so did most of the dragons here. Sol was grateful his right side was pressed against the wall- his back leg was still quite a mess, and he had lost several stitches. The wound would have to be cleaned to prevent infection. With a sigh Sol glanced towards the small, makeshift infirmary in the far back corner of the cave.
The dragonet brought his attention back to present matters as she crossed Infront of him, narrowing her eyes at a thick scar tracing down his neck. Now that one had a history. He caught her gaze and shook his head with a kind look, snuffing out the onslaught of questions.
"Eclipse-" Sol began, lifting his gaze, "so, you are caring for her- er, Shard? Just for now, or..? Cuz, that's cool. I like it. You have a kind heart, Eclipse."

Eclipse had let her thoughts wander a little to try and take her mind off her embarrassment when Sol turned back to her.

Sunspot stayed at her spot along the wall, watching the scene interestedly. The way other dragons interacted was so weird. Also. The way Eclipse was looking at Sol… and Bloodmoon… and she suspected that Eclipse already had a dragon stashed somewhere else… weird.

None of her concern. It was interesting to watch play out though. Bloodmoon obviously had a thing for Eclipse, emotionally constipated as he was, and Sunspot couldn’t tell with Sol, but it seemed he was flirting with her. Eclipse just seemed confused.

Romance looked complicated and difficult and just- ick. Sunspot snorted at the thought of HER getting all mushy and stupid for someone. Ew.
Corvus sighed, dipping his claws into the lakes clear water to scoop up a round, striped pebble. He turned it over, running a claw along the ridges before tossing it back in the water, probably surprising some poor unsuspecting fish.
Wait really? I love writing romance lol XD
Me toooo

Sol's ears twitched as he gave Helios a hopeful glance. "I will consider, Helios. Thank you." Sol dipped his head, pacing the short truck entrance once again. As he gazed out at the rocky desert, he noticed the unmistakable dust trail rise into the morning sky like smoke. Sol let out a choked breath, grinning as the last transport truck crested the horizon. A small part of his mind gnawed at the anticipation, a silent warning. Well, be that way. He didn't care if his hopes were dashed- because Tobias was on that transport.
He had to be on that transport.
Sol battled his emotions as he watched the truck approach, loping behind the vehicle when it rolled into the cavern, engine echoing loudly against the solid, rock walls.
His heart jumped, the truck pulled to a stop. The trucker left the engine running as he exited the vehicle, giving Sol a stern nod of acknowledgement as he moved to open the massive trailer doors.

@-Shade- @Crestcrazy2 @-Kiwi-

@SarcasticDrag0n, maybe Hibiscus could be coming in on the last transport?

Taber, you're good to RP the Trucker, just get Eclipse out of the truck for Pete's sake, it's taken forEVER to get them here, oh MY gosh-
Helios watched him go, only for him to return to the cave with a expression full of worry and guilt. What was it that could possibly make Sol worried…? Other then being a very different dragon then he was before the humans wiped his mind, Helios didn’t understand. Sol was always so brave, Almost fearless.
He couldn’t see any humans tagging along behind Sol.
It was Tobias that he was worried about.
Blazing suns, Tobias didn’t make it.
The thought stirred up a mix of emotions that he could barely make anything of. Was he sad that the human didn’t make it? Or happy because now Sol could return guilt free?
A young Skywing seemed to follow him around, making small talk and bouncing around.

Helios left his son to his own thoughts and glided down the mountainside to the camp a short distance below. As soon as he landed a small voice caught his ears, it was rambling about something and seemingly yelling at him. He scanned the area for a dragon. Nope. A dragonet? No again.
Then, On the ground a ways away, a human was scrambling toward him. The doctor from the lab made it to helios and collapsed under his wings.
“Oh thank goodness I found you! Do you know how many dragons have tried eating me already?! Seventeen! SEVENTEEN! you can’t just nab someone, a doctor no less, and take them to the middle of nowhere full of hungry dragons! I’ve only found Macaw so far and he doesn’t even know where we are!” The human shouted, his head a mess of blonde hair.
“Mind reading? Like NightWings?” Phoenix asked, picking up the pace to catch up with Kings longer stride. She hunched her wings a little to stabilize the dragonet sitting on her back. “I wonder if they’re related somehow. His scale patterns and his body shape remind me a little of a NightWing… just skinnier. But the black blotches makes me think hybrid? Do you think some LunarWings have black scales? Maybe NightWings are like- descendants of the LunarWings- and SkyWings descend from SolarWings! Or something.” Phoenix realized she was rambling and snapped her jaws shut, looking down. “Sorry.”

Ehehe yesss

The lake at Grebes Nest :) brooding
King wrinkled his nose in puzzlement, “Nah don’t be! I don’t know, good theories though. He’s the only Lunarwing I’ve ever seen, let alone met. I think he thinks I’m his parent…hopefully Chickadee can help with that. She knows a lot about dragonets.” He said, watching Knight tussle with a few feathers on phoenix’s back.
