Theose who have died do not know anything because they are as if they are asleep. When Jesus' friend Lazarus died, Jesus said he was asleep, but then he said he was dead.

Martha, Lazarus' sister, knew Lazarus would wake up someday, for she said:

All who have died are sleeping in their graves, waiting for that "last day." When Jesus comes, He will wake up those who have believed in Him:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but according to the Bible which does not lie, your chicken is not coming back. But God may give you a new chicken, or maybe a rabbit or a dog or some other way of helping you with your anxiety. He loves you and will always take care of you. He may not always give you what you want, but He will always give you what you need. And now you have us and we love you, too.
