Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Vel paused a minute before trickling more water into his mouth, then waited again, moving slowly.
Minutes later she dragged him back, further up the riverbed. She let her legs collapse, promising herself she would wake up soon as she pulled Alicanto to her side, feeling both horrified and restless when she caught a glance of the wound still marring his neck. Blood glistened in the moonlight.
Why was it- how was it bleeding again...
Groggily, her last bit of forced strength nearly spent, Vel pushed a talon against the wound, feeling a weak shudder of protest run through the CloudWing...
Now she could only hope Ajax would be of some help. She was so scared she would sleep too long. She really didn't want to sleep. But her body needed it. It needed food too, especially the... CloudWing...
Vel covered the CloudWing with a gray wing.
She wanted to feel him if he woke.
Then she closed her eyes, already feeling her mind drift as she let her body relax against the mud and rocks.

Alicanto tried to pull away as the pain in his neck increased again, his body reacting uncoordinated to the disturbance and he let out a choked gasp from the pain. Small shudders passed up and down his aching body as the water soaked the warmth from his muscles, creeping beneath his feathers and clinging to his skin. He barely had the strength to shiver every now and then.
He could feel a faint resonating of warmth on his side and over his back, mostly from the space next to him, the little amount of presence against his sopping feathers. His mind began falling back into the thoughtless darkness, the feeling of the rocks beneath him and his soaked feathers fading to a subconscious background as he feel back into the blackness.

(where do we go now?)
Ajax wanted so badly to close his eyes and fall into a deep sleep. But, it was obvious that he was meant to keep watch and make sure nobody stops breathing.
So far, both Vel and Alicanto looked fine enough to be left alone.
Sitting down, Ajax kept his head high and alert, as well as his ears perked up. He fought himself so hard about “letting his eyes rest”.

Vel rolled over, groaning dramatically as her scales scraped against the rocky ground. The CloudWing was still at her side, asleep.
The sun hung halfway in the sky.
She leapt to her feet, growling as she shook rocks off her scales.
"SkyWing?" She lumbered towards the river, lapping up water before turning back to the red dragon. "Ajax." She strode to the sleeping SkyWing's side, prodding his neck. "Ay. We have to hunt. The CloudWing needs food." She nudged him again. "And so do we."

His eyes snapping open, Ajax jumped up as Vel shook him. He groggily looked around, processing what had happened. “Ugh, I fell asleep, didn’t I?” He mumbled the rhetorical question, sleep thick in his voice.
As Ajax stood, he realized how sore he truly was. His stomach grumbling, he walked closer to the river and swallowed as much water as he could.
“So, what are we doing for food?” He murmured, glancing down at Alicanto then back up to Vel.

Vel shook her head, lumbering back towards the stream to flick water against her face.
"Alicanto needs to be watered, and that wound needs to be cleaned. Preferably sooner than later. I really don't want to leave him here alone. But- heck, if you think we can pull it off, we can hunt together. Otherwise, one at a time."
Vel glanced towards the CloudWing.
"Whichever your comfortable with. One of us hunts, the other plays caretaker." She gave Ajax an expectant look.

“Yeah, I guess we can do that. I think leaving Ali here by himself would be risky business.” Ajax said.
His stomach grumbled again. “Well, I assume that you are one to stick to the RainWing customs. Finding plants to eat would probably go faster than finding meat.” He said, the hollow feeling in his stomach making him sneer.

Tobias and Sol shared a look.
Sol cleared his throat. "Where will you start? The continents huge, bro."
"I admire your dedication." Tobias gave a quick nod. "I.. can relate."

@Yukiko
Crest took a deep breath. He knew it was a huge continent and that it would take a while to find her, but he knew he couldn't just leave her. "I'm not sure where to start. Somewhere closer to the Den, I guess. She wouldn't have had enough time to completely cross the continent so I'll start with nearby areas." Crest's thoughts were still spinning, but he decided to change the subject off of him.
"So, what are you two planning on doing now that you're out of the Den?"

Whitestar watched Austin with a cold stare for a long moment, ignoring the Den guard for a few seconds before finally directing his gaze down to the human. He has tempted to make them both wait even longer while he contemplated what he could say to potentially embarrass or expose Austin, but he thought better of it, as the result could potentially blow everyone's cover.
"I'm an Icewing," Whitestar said with an edge of condescending. "I thought that was obvious." His tail flicked once and he glanced briefly at Austin again, then back to the guard, his gaze emotionless and cold.
"What exactly is happening here?"

Austin saw the stare Whitestar was giving him and it almost scared him in a way. He hadn't been scared of a dragon in a long while, but the situation was stressing him out and he knew that Whitestar had the power to give him away.
Finally, the dragon answered, "I'm an Icewing. I thought that was obvious."
Austin cringed a little at the ending comment. Yeah, make the guard who doesn't like us mad at us.
The anger on the guard's face was evident and he looked back at Austin, "This how you raise your dragons? To be smartmouths?" He turned back to the dragon and answered the question angrily, "If you must know, there was a breakout from the rebellion. Dragons like you killin friends of mine to escape and not gettin punished for it. Dragons like you-"
Austin interrupted, keeping his professional demeanor he walked over to the guard and pulled him aside, "No, sir, trust me he will be reprimanded," Austin said quietly. "It's my fiance, see. She tends to spoil them. She just adores dragons."
The guard scoffed, "Well, then this is no place for her! She better leave or she's going to be upset by every activity we do here."
Austin laughed and nodded his consent, "Yes, sir, I know. But, she wanted to come. I'm worried though, that the activities and things have scared her and she went to hide. That's why we're looking for her currently." Putting on his best worried face, he looked the guard in the eyes, "I hope you can understand my predicament."

Tobias took a shaking breath.
Sol dropped his gaze.
"I don't- think.. we have any plans yet." The SolarWing answered quickly. "It all came upon us... Rather fast."
Tobias gave a half hearted nod, sighing as he ran a hand through his dirty hair, rubbing his palm against the pricking hairs lining his cheek. Gosh, he needed to shower.
Sol could tell something was bothering the man, but he didn't want to press the issue. Not right then. So he lifted his gaze and stared down at Crest, forcing to clear his mind of worry. "Crest, do you know anything else about my family? Have I a mother? Siblings?"

"You take care of him, then? I'll be back real soon. Pray I find something."
