Shard watched the other dragons on the transport with wide, blue eyes.
Sunspot had fallen asleep a tails-length away from Eclipse, who had also drifted off, the steady rise and fall of her chest brushing against Shard comfortingly.
The dragonet inspected each dragon on the truck, sometimes reminding herself not to stare, especially when certain dragons shot her hard looks for it. But what grabbed her attention the most was the human sitting against the furthest wall beside Eclipse's friend, Sol. Shard had quickly decided before now that she didn't like humans, especially the adults in the Scorpion Den, and she refused to think about her first encounter with them.
She found herself staring again and she shifted slightly, focusing her gaze briefly on Crest, who was talking with Sol. She lay there for a moment, her tail twitching restlessly as questions bubbled up into her ever-working mind, watching the conversation, still out of earshot.
Shard hesitated, then carefully, slowly slid forward out from beneath Eclipse's wing. The Lunarwing shifted, her talon sliding forward a few inches, and her expression twitched ever so slightly before she went motionless again. Shard stood uncertainly for a moment before turning and pacing silently in the direction of the other dragons and the human, stopping behind Crest's wing nervously. She listened to them for a moment before carefully peeking her head from behind the Seawing, wondering if the blue dragon knew she was there.
"Excuse me..."

Cas lifted his head at the small conversation behind him. He hadn’t been sleeping, but things had been quiet and dull. Oddly enough, he hadn’t felt like starting a conversation with anyone he’d talked to. Hibiscus had laughed at his jokes, but seemed to grow tired of them quickly. Deep down, though he didn’t realize it of himself, the SkyWing was partially shocked down by Eclipse’s chilling bluntness.
It was a dragonet who was talking, trying to start up a conversation between a tired-looking SeaWing. Cas flicked and ear, not sure whether to interrupt. When the conversation slid over to the wounded scavenger, Cas turned around to face the others.
“Why are you here and not with the other scavengers?” He asked Tobias, glancing between the man and Shard.

"Because of me." Sol muttered, repositioning his wings. "I put him here."
Tobias, his eyes on the ground, nodded slowly.

Sol nodded. He'd hardly spoken to a dragonet before. It was a strange thing to see something so young, delicate, innocent.
He lowered his head to look Shard in the eye, intrigued by her curious gaze.

Kapok stretched lazily, staring at the wall of the transport with a bored expression as the vehicle jostled and hummed quietly along its path. The large Leafwing rolled over, glancing over the other dragons on the transport half-heartedly, picking out the two he recognized.
Dred was lying a short distance away, possibly asleep, his large, grey-tinted form standing out among the bright colors of the other dragons. Shrike was much closer, but he was still awake, his expression sullen and distant.
Kapok stretched out a leaf-shaped wing and brushed it lightly against the Cloudwing's, giving him a gentle but concerned look.

“Hm?” Shrike shook his head slightly to clear his thoughts and tilted his head halfway towards Kapok. He cleared his throat and looked away abruptly, saying, “I’m fine.” The CloudWing sighed. “Ya know where we’re goin?” He asked, changing the subject, “other than North?”

Shard stretched her neck forward, trying to get her gaze closer without being invasive. His eyes were an enticingly deep shade of gold, a sharp contrast that complemented well with his brilliant ruby scales. Shard could feel the warmth swirling off his scales even more so than she had with Bloodmoon's. It was a wonderful sensation to feel on her scales at the moment, but uncomfortable to be in for so long. Still, she was curious.
The dragonet took a careful pace forward and reached out a talon slowly toward Sol's wing, curiosity overtaking her caution.
“Whyyy..?”
Shard flinched back nervously as the Skywing behind her spoke and she glanced around her at the older dragons, yanking her talon away from Sol.
"Can I feel your scales?" she whispered, trying not to tremble as she stared up at the sun dragon.
