Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Ugh, questions.

Cochineal looked at her sideways. “Kicked out,” he said simply, plucking a fruit for himself. He wasn’t quite ready to trust these dragons, especially when it came to telling them how they got here.

"Okay."
Vel was tense.
She gathered fruit in shaking talons.
"I'm going to bring this back for the others. The water's fresh from the oasis. It's from a fresh stream in ground. There's a current. It's strong. Don't let the human fall in past her head."

Cochineal plucked as much fruit as he could, handing much of it to Arya to carry. The atmosphere was painfully awkward.

Arya scoffed at Vel’s words. “She thinks I can’t handle myself,” she muttered, half to herself.

“I’m just glad she isn’t trying to kill you,” Cochineal responded, lifting off to hover above the RainWing.

Vel followed, feeling so horridly lightheaded. She struggled to lift off the ground, and flying was a shaky adventure, promising imminent doom should she loose her air and fall. Determined, she reached the oasis, landing softly beside Alicanto. She threw a fruit at Ajax without looking, hearing it fall into the thicket, her aim horribly off.
With careful claws, Vel lifted Alicanto's head, trying to jostle him awake. She cupped water in her talon and flicked it at his nose.

“Great,” said Phoenix, bumping Corvus’ tail with her own. She was starting to get very worried.

Can we trust him?

Corvus watched as King tucked a silver dragonet into the pouch around his neck.

What if King was in on it? Was he dangerous?
King watched his face. Why was he was scared of him? “It’ll be safe there. We’ve survived raids before with less protection. The barracks are probably the only safe place between here and the open sea.” King reassured.
(She has a house with a hidden bunker underneath in the south side of town :))

“Sand Kingdom,” Shrike said flatly, “I don’t know where Kapok’s from. Most likely Sanctuary or Possibility, originally the Poison Jungle, I dunno.”

*Tide appears*
“Why were you in the sand kingdom? And wasn’t the poison jungle mostly deforested a long time ago? The humans machines destroyed it.” Dred asked.
Kapok gave a small nod as Shrike finished.

Alicanto jerked his head as something cold stung the inside of his nose, droplets making their way down his throat. He cough raggedly and gasped, his eyes flickering open again, only managing to catch blurred shapes and sharp light. He groaned loudly, breaking off into a fit of strangled coughs, every one racking his entire body.
"Vel..." he wheezed, taking a deep, shuddering breath. "Can you... stop trying... to drown me?"
He blinked fiercely, trying to force open his blurry eyes, his mind shifting in and out of consciousness again, the small jolt of awakening from the water already starting to fade.

Kapok turned to Dred sharply, his eyes wide with alarm. He shook his head slowly, staring at the Mudwing in shock and horror, his jaw slightly agape.

Dred realized kapok might not want to here about how his potential home was obliterated. “Some of it is left. That’s what I heard. On old leafwing I used to be caged next to told me.”

"Yes. When you wake up, then I'll stop."
She rolled him onto his stomach, tilting his head away from the water.
"If you're going to throw up, do it now. Otherwise, I have food for you." She held out the cactus fruit before the dragon's eyes, her other arm wrapped around his chest. "It's good, man. It's so good. And you have got to eat, pal."
He coughed again, and Vel shook her head, grateful for her large size. The metallic dragon was considerably heavy, but she was considerably large, evening out the weight. She propped him up on his side, moving to stand directly Infront of him.
She offered him the fruit.

Cochineal watched the interaction for a few moments before moving away to a palm tree a ways a way from the group, laying down in the sand. Arya slid off his back, kneeling to drink from the stream.

“Oh, thank the moons,” she said, splashing water on her face and back. “That’s so much better.”

She flopped down against Cochineal’s side. “What now?”

Cochineal glared at her. “I would rather be flying to the Checkpoint right now,” he said. “That is what we wanted to do, yes?”

Arya glared right back. “Well we can’t leave these sad sacks either.” Quieter, she said, “and I want to find out what they’re doing all the way out here.”

Cochineal snorted, his tail twitching.

“Lead the way,” Phoenix said, glancing back at Corvus with a worried look.
