Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

They sat in the hangar, watching the sun tarnish in a hot sky.
Sol released a long breath. Tobias slept, lying back on the dragon's warm shoulder, greased hair toussled in some foreign breeze. The man looked at peace, and that is all Sol would desire for him.
Harper sat nearer to Eclipse. Shard lay behind her, splayed out like a wasted puppy.
The woman repositioned herself, coughing into the cowl of her vest, then rested her wrists over her jutting, long knees. Her stained hands shook. She had not eaten for a very long time. She knew the same for Eclipse, though the dragon has not said a word regarding any discomfort. Whatever food Eclipse was offered, she passed along to Shard.
Sol, she knew, was in the same walk as Eclipse, though he had a more tenacious build, and the elements weighed less heavy on his scales. However, the SolarWing had still contracted some ailment easily due to stress.
Tobias slept, a usual sighting, though she understood how difficult it was for him to check out.
Sleep was a vulnerable thing.
She stood slowly, and Sol glanced at her.
"We are wasting away." She said, and the hangar exploited her voice.
Sol dipped his head and turned back to the sun. It filled his eyes, and burned in a dangerous way.
Harper moved gently towards Tobias. "We need a resource team." She said, glancing pointedly at Sol before kneeling beside the sleeping man. "Someone to go into [insert nearest town{Possibility?}], and bring back what we need to make the trek out of here." She unbuttoned Ferrin's dress shirt with some disdain, then ran her eyes over the doctor's brief work of bandage and plaster. Sol glanced over and she motioned his face away. "It needs to be a small group, and they need to be fast."
She pulled up on Tobias's right sleeve with immediate regret. The man coughed and his eyes flickered.
She could tell Sol was biting back words.
"It needs to be Gen," she said, steadying Tobias's shoulder, "Eclipse, and Sol."
Tobias coughed hard, fully awake.
She waited for the spell to pass, and never looked him in the eye. "I do not know a more timely team." She cleared her throat. "I do know you both have loyalties here," Harper met Eclipse's gaze, "but they will not be around much longer if we do not act."
She reached for Tobias's arm again, and he grew stiff. Touch itself caused him swells of pain, and movement was a second world entirely. But infection would kill him.
"What say you, Eclipse?" Harper asked, casting a second look at the SolarWing. "I see no other options, and time runs short."

Don't ask me how, but I actually found one.
The nearest large town, Oakenwatch, is roughly 60 degrees NE of Possibility, and about a day's flight for a healthy dragon. Probably 2 for our more bedraggled bunch. It's in the Sky Kingdom's borders, if barely, and the terrain will probably be arid and dry, rocky forest.

"There are no other options."
The silver dragon curled her tail slowly across the heat-stained concrete, sweeping a small cloud of dry, black dust over the ground.
"Oakenwatch is smaller than Possibility- they haven't exhausted their land as thoroughly as this city. I haven't seen hardly any of Gen, but I assume that means he's well enough to travel. We can do it. We have to."
She hesitated a long moment before letting out a half-suppressed sigh.
"If we leave tonight..."
An anxious glance at Shard, faint, but swarmed with worry.
"We'd be under cover of darkness and safer from patrols. The city is thicker Eastward, and richer, from what I've heard. Less dragon-friendly."

Harper nodded, feeling Tobias's lucid gaze. She looked down at him, her eyes a ponderous, calculating place. "Okay. Let us go to the infirmary and get supplies." She offered her hand to Tobias, and together they stood.
"You'll want the tarps from beneath the workbench," he said, dusting his trousers off with his free hand and nodding towards the back wall.
Sol nodded, stealing a fast look at Harper before dropping his gaze.
"Alright." The woman said, "Eclipse and I will get supplies and drop Shard off at the bunker."
Sol nodded again. "And where is Gen?"
"I believe he is on the roof."
"K." Sol started toward the workbench.
Tobias turned towards the silver dragon. "Fly tonight," he said, glancing at the dim red sky, then at his watch. "Stop only once you've found water."

The Lunarwing gave him a deep nod as she stood, her tail curling forward to brush him gently between the shoulder blades. Shard stretched slowly and rolled onto her back, wings splayed across the concrete and she watched.
"We will." Eclipse straightened further, rolling back her aching shoulders as she lifted her gaze to the Solarwing
"We'll be safer if we sleep hidden through the day and then progress through the night. I've been traveling the continent that way for years to avoid dragon hunter patrols. But a nocturnal schedule for dragons not used to it can be... difficult."

"My schedule was ravaged weeks ago," Sol snarled with a mocking air, and his thick voice filled the hangar. Tools shifted as he fought to retrieve the tarps through a narrow cabinet door.
Tobias reached for his bad arm, a subconscious impulsion, and held it against his stomach. "You both will be trading strength and weakness. Be flexible."
Sol leapt back from the cabinet and flared his wings in frustration before diving his snout into the cabinet, snapping the dry wood as he ripped the tarps out and wheeled away from the tool bench.
"Gosh, he's hot." Tobias murmured with a soft shake of his head. "But there's a lot of.. there's so much happening. So much happened." The man glanced away, and for a moment they waited in easy silence. "Eclipse, he hasn't any memory outside of the Scorpion Den. He knows nothing. Absolutely nothing. This isn't his territory anymore. And yet... His pride is consuming."
