what about a gnome? the Brothers Grimm were german, many of the "traditional" fairy tales were german folk stories the grimm brothers were basically editors, they wrote down the peasant tales and published them. (this is why in all of them they're always danger "into the woods", that's the black forrest.

Norway's national flower is called Bergfrue. (Saxifraga cotyledon) In english it is called Pyramidal Saxifrage.
The reason why someone answered heather is because there was a program on the radio a few years ago where people should vote for a national flower. However the Bergfrue was named Norway's official flower in 1935.
