I was telling DH about you going through all this. His comment was glad we dont have to worry about that anymore. I mean there are times I miss my kids being small, especially around the holidays. But when it comes to all the daycare, babysitter, school stuff I am reallllly glad all that is over.

I'm hoping it will work.

I have another choice if it doesnt.

But my kids are not as naughty as the old daycare says. AND first thing this morning they were greeted by two classmates they went to daycare with 3 years ago and who I know are very well behaved so things look promising. Also, there is only one other boy there and he is about 9 or 10 and seemed very polite so that makes me happy.

g does not have this particular aversion.

See this is where my issues with santa pops up... kids are told be good and you'll get presents, but often kids can get few to no presents due to outside factors, like layoffs, poor wages and such.

I struggled with the whole santa thing too...plus I had a whacky dippy h at the time who had odd views. I went with the whole...there was a really nice guy, named Nicholas, who made toys for orphan boys and girls around Christmas and this was such a nice thing that people made up this story of St. Nick to keep his memory alive. Then of course they asked if he is still alive and I said, no, he died a long tme ago. I proceeded to tell them not to say anything to other kids because it's up to their mommies and daddies to tell them the truth and some of them want to play the game for a while before the kids find out.

So one time at an antique store around Christmas time...we're walking around...and some adult says something to her about Santa and my oldest responds, Santa is dead...and oh the looks on people's faces...at least they smiled. And she explained herself further but my kid ain't no dummy.

I also told her it's mommy's and daddy's that get presents to put under the tree and sometimes it's hard for them to do much if they don't have a lot of money. It's good to remind them of that when we toy purge...to say we are offering these toys we don't play with anymore to kids who don't have a lot of money...it helps the selection go better.
