I like the name. I might make this my favorite dish JUST based on title alone. I think I'm going to put some bacon in it. Or ham. Corned beef would be good tho.....
I bought some beer, "fancy beer" because every once in a while I feel really unmanly sitting with my beer-drinking DH and neighbors sipping on my vodka cocktails or margaritas... so I bought this "oatmeal stout" which was $9 a 6-pack. It tasted really good the first lil bit, then after I ate (I don't remember what I ate) supper it took on this really evil bitter chemical aftertaste, like licking your fingers after using hand sanitizer, VERY chemical based flavor, gross. I'm not wasting it so I think oatmeal beer bread is in order. On second thought, having that with the rumbledethumps might be too heavy, we'll probably have to eat it with some cabbage soup.
