Take for example this....we went outside today and Molly darts out and runs around the house 2x full speed...like greyhound speed or Cheetah. I'm over collecting eggs. She tries to barge in. I take her by her collar and go tie her up on her chain so I can finish and she isn't responding to any verbal commands, "no" or "ah ah!"--like I see Victoria do on It's me or the dog. Quick sharp loud verbal ah ah's...it's like she's so focused on what she's focused on that she doesn't hear it. So I tie her up. It's only been less than 5 minutes and when I go to get her off her lead...she's running back and forth like a crazy beast and trying to get her to calm down so I can unhook her she's about to kill me with her lead or by jumping up to touch me with her snout like a dolphin and sometimes her head butts can hurt but she's so gosh darn excited.
I've tried turning my back on her to ignore her and walking toward her space little by little but she has jumped at my back and scratched it if I get close enough. I've gone and sat with her and pet her calmly and stayed in her area a long time to get her to just be calm so when I try to unhook her she's not so darn spazzy.
I've never had such a spazzy dog in my life. I admit I need tips on training.
This is what I use on mine.. They prefer it oddly enough.. helps them get that pesky neck itch. Made my 75lb dog manageable to my 6 year old.
The Precious has one too. We call it her "good dog" collar. She wears it if we are going out and there is the possibility of small tasty snacks on leashes.
