Sparkles, sounds like he's just getting to a point of stress. More sleep works. He can be grounded for a few weeks, get the sleep in and see how it goes.

Teenaged girls however need to go bed EARLY to even attempt decent behavior. Island sounds really really good.

Hahaha...Algae...love how our parenting is so much alike. Problem? More sleep! Easy peasy!

Well see that's what I think! He's going thru a growth spurt, he always gets emotional and bullys his brother when he's growing. BUT, you can't graffiti school property because you're growing!

He's grounded and going to bed early for the rest of the school year. All 5 days lol.

Hey, it works! Most of the behavior I've found is when their brains are either tired or they are hungry/thirsty. Older kids know how to get food/drink on their own, so that leaves tired. Which over 3 means a fit of "NO! I DO NOT NEED A NAP!" *stomp, stomp, stomp* - wait 5 minutes - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz or the one now of "I HATE YOU!!! YOU ARE TREATING ME LIKE A BABY!" *stomp, stomp, stomp* - 5 minutes - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and you have to drag her out of bed in the morning because she's still tired.

Really, it'd not be so funny, but Charlotte does this EVERY night, a huge snit fit about having to go to bed at the same time as Annika, and yet she's always asleep first and she is still tired in the morning. On the weekends when she can sleep in, she's good with about 13-14 hours of sleep. On school nights, we do good to get 10 hours in her.

Yes, but you are forgetting the boy mantra of growing. I must be STUPID. Matthew had 5 ER visits in 2 months when he was 16 and incredibly stupid. I mean totally irrationally stupid.

Make him take a Mr Eraser and clean up the graffiti. Then early bedtime for 2 weeks. See how it goes.

I told the detention guy to make him clean it off tomorrow. The guy said "um, let me go look at it and call you back."

5 min later

"yep, i think I'll have him clean it off tomorrow. its actually a really good drawing."

Same here, the boys are just dumb as a box of rocks, only that insults the rocks, when they are growing.

The girls get stupid and toddler bratty.

Well, at least it was productive?

I just don't want to handle it badly tonight when I pick him up.

I'll have to bite my tongue for the 20 miles home, because if I bring it up in front of The Smaller One he will have his 2 cents to throw in and that'll just make it worse...

And if The Bigger One even thinks there's a glint of angry in my eyes he clams up so I have to get him talking about it and have a constructive discussion about why he can't hit his brother's nuts to make him play with him at recess....
