I never eat any of them.

But any that try to eat me end up feeding a tree..... I tolerate no meanness, even when they're itty bitty. A curious have-you-got-food peck is okay. But if they grab and twist? I grab and twist back.

Do you name your trees, "bad a-- chick tree?"

No, but our oak trees will drop little egg-corns one day.....

DH just sent me a text "When did we get black smooth feathered geese?"

Ummmm..... We didn't. I have no freaking clue what the hay he is talking about. We have white curly feathered geese. Apparently there are black geese hanging out in the pond with them. Guess I'll see what the heck is going on when I get home.

....Ran around all morning, getting stuff for the turkey.

Fed him, changed his water.

Maybe I didnt close the cage door enough, or maybe the dog shifted the cage. I dunno.

We were in the coop, not 50 feet away, making a chicken salad bar.

Then one of the kids yelled that the turkey was out---and so was Chevy, who was ripping out Fluffy's insides. I never heard the dog or Fluffy make a sound. The kids kind of understood what was happening.

Anyway, I called Shaner home, since I am not physically strong enough to put the turkey down.

I moved a bench chair over Sir Fluffs Alot, so he would be in the shade. I want to be out there, so he won't be alone, but the kids keep following me around, crying.

Gimme recipe PLEASE!

6 cloves of garlic chopped
2 onions chopped
2 tbs oil

6 medium potatoes sliced (I don't peel mine...but you can if you want)
large brocolli head...can add more if you like, I do...I leave mine in big chunks and you can utilize the stem if you want--peel and slice or chop up for the chickens scraps---which ever you prefer
6 cups of water
7 chicken boullion cubes
dash nutmeg
splash of basil leaves

2 cups milk
salt & pepper to taste

1)Heat oil in dutch oven (big pot for cookin soup) add onions and garlic and soften for about 5 min.

2)Add water and boullion cubes, nutmeg & basil, potatos, brocolli and bring to boil. Cover with lid. Turn to lower setting and simmer for 20 min.

3)Working in batches if necessary, Blend.

*** At this point I take a slotted spoon and spoon out brocolli and put in another pan because I like my brocolli soup with chuncks of brocolli in it.

Then I spoon the soup into my blender with a ladel and give it a whirl for a few seconds to break up the potatos and mix everything up....then I pour that into the pan with the brocolli and get next batch and whirl it in blender...till done.

I then I pour everything back into dutch oven.

4) Now add 2 cups of milk.

** I put milk into my blender (it has measuring marks on the side of blender) and this way I slosh it around making sure I'm getting all the brocolli mix off sides and then pour the milk into the dutch oven and heat until warm.

5) Add a bit of salt and pepper to taste. And shredded cheese if you desire and crusty bread is good dipped in it too.
