Spiders are my friends too. I catch them and put them outside, or in the winter I put them in the houseplants. Anything that eats flies and mosquitoes is okay by me.

OK the post I wanted to write this morning when the rug was pulled out from under my feet by the padlock...

Last week we were informed that someone heinous was leaving the office for a new career far, far away.

*yay*

Her job is a lateral move from mine, no raise, but new job duties and not so many nut jobs on the case load.

*yay*

I submitted a letter of interest, opperating under the assumption that the position would be opened internally initially and then externally.

The director stopped me this morning and said "Oh yeah about that, we just kind of hush-hush gave it to someone else without bothering to open it up to anyone else."

*not yay*

I didn't expect to get it anyways but to find out that it was taken away from me in a TOTALLY UNETHICAL MANNER really torked me off and if the director wasnt 7 ft tall I would have told him what I thought....

Way to start my day.

On the upside, I made a kickin rhubarb coffee cake last night in like, no time flat!

Well...what ever that was about.

Yay!!!! You're such an awesome lundy grandma!!!

sparkles, don't you work for the county? I am not sure that it is even legal not to post it internally.

the worst part is, the girl they sneaked and gave it to is worse than the one who is leaving. NO ONE wants her here, and I applied to keep her from coming to this office, we like her FAR AWAY.
So do I make a stink about it and get it taken away from her (theres no way she can become more bitter, she'd shrivel up and turn inside out) or do I just resign myself to a life of agony in her company?

Is that an option? They should have opened the postition internally, but even if they do it, what's to stop them from hiring this woman over the other applicants?
