I love rhubarb. Fresh stick dipped in honey....mmmmmmm....pie....mmmmmmm....crisp.....mmmmmmmmm.....cake....mmmmmmm.....

Speaking of, I should go dig mine up and move it. It's tough but every now and then it needs a helping hand, especially when the forest is trying to consume it.

g,

for all of you. Glad your missionaries helped you out. Everyone in your house needs to wash their hands every few minutes. Tell the girls, let's go wash our hands. So much of what is happening can be spread by hands and the nasty old fecal-oral route or dirty hands touching other parts of your body.

Go wash hands right now. With soap and warm water. For at least 20 seconds, sing the ABC two times. Change your hand towels often.

As a matter of fact, for a little while, I'd skip hand towels and use paper towels instead. I'm not big on paper waste but this is an instance where those germs need to GO.

I hope you all get to feeling better fast...I don't know how much of that I could take as a mom!

Absolutely! While I don't want to make a ton more waste - if anyone gets a bug here, out go the hand towels and in come the paper towels. They now advertise disposable hand towels so you don't spread germs and such. I call 'em paper towels. Same deal.

And thus, how we have 9 kids at home right now and very rarely wind up sick.

You "HAD" to??? I took a bird class...that's right, I'll say it, ornithology. Bet you didn't know I could use big words, did ya?

It was really neat. We went for a few days way north into WI. and saw a crane rookery in a swamp...helped the lil old lady who takes the class every year for the adventure...through the swamp...her holding on to our arms through it. She's so cute. I wanna be an old lady and take college bird classes and travel with the young folk and have them be super nice with me and tell them crazy stories about my younger years. That's right....Imma have me some crazy mud boots too!

I took entomology and still have my insect collection. I took ornithology online, it was a lot of work.

Did you go to to Necedah? That place is so cool. Did you see the whooping cranes? Heron rookeries, any kind of rookery, are cool.

You need to come visit me some time. We have a red-headed woodpecker pair in a dead tree on the other side of the driveway. I discovered them this morning. We have black vultures living in the old brick house ruins. A red-shouldered hawk nesting nearby. Lots of birds.

I was leary, I mean, coffee cake with rhubarb!?!

But its from and OLLLLLDDDD church cookbook and those ladies knwe how to feed people... and it was like ten seconds easy so I tried it.

Its a little dry, maybe some more rhubarb would cure that, but otherwise its really good!

I've got a ton of rhubarb at my old house...can you post the recipe????

Bring me rhubarb and duck eggs.

I took microbiology and found out they put some really gross yet fascinating photos in college textbooks. I loved microbiology.
