So my day yesterday, real exciting.
Wake up about 4:30 for a trip to the bathroom (hey we talk about poop, we can talk about early morning bathroom trips) and the power is on.
Wake up again about 7:00 because it's light, no power. Eat some breakfast, read a little, then we take a little drive to see if we can find any power lines down. None.
Stop at the neighbor's house, he is also without power. Visit for awhile then head home.
Mrs. dacs calls the electric company.
Read a little bit more.
Mrs. dacs reminds me that we wanted to use a lousy weather day to go to town so we head for town.
Get home around 1:00, still no power.
Remember we have a generator that hasn't ever been used. Get it up and running and start plugging things in.
About 4:30 pm after unplugging everything and shutting down the generator we head for big town to meet coworkers for dinner and then go to a movie.
Coworkers are in my area working on a project while I am still not back in active status. Wasteful spending of out taxes.
Eat at Texas Roadhouse, get the full rack of ribs for Mrs. dacs and myself.
Go to the movie. Two and a half hours of the Grateful Dead and hippies from 1974 with some flashbacks to the 60s. Good music but the movie was 30 to 60 minutes too long. It was fun revisiting that era. Maybe just visiting it, I was in the Army in 1974 so I missed it first time around. I think Mrs. dacs and I were the oldest people in the theater, everyone else looked like they hadn't even born in 1974 but they tried to dress the part. Lots of Grateful Dead t-shirts being worn. We even had them.
Get home shortly after 11:00 and the power was back on. We forgot to plug the fridge back in the wall before we left. Hope the stuff is OK, it was cold, just not real cold.
So that is a recap of my exciting day. Missed you all and your shennanigans.
