There is nothing about Nells that is not vaguely threatening.

What degree are you going for, ladies?

I'm going to be the vaguely scary science teacher that hatches chicks in class.
But first I have to get licesure as an old maid English teacher....

Hahahahaha, I like this! I need to build another nellasomething. Full of hate and rage and and useful construction.

My kind of construction is full of desperation, the fear of my own clutziness and "gotta get this done right NOW". Hence the wading pool with a chicken wire surround and a heat lamp hanging from (and very well secured to) an extension cord reel from the ceiling in the garage.

The nellabrooder inspired me to building a little "goat house" mini-coop for all these chicks I hatched.

I don't want to put them inthe quarantine cage, since they'll be able to pop out of the chainlink, and I HATE feeding the tweety birds.

So, this morning I:

Took the kids on a hike
Carried Ronin on my shoulders on the mile back down the mountain
Washed the car
Clogged 3, YES THREE, vaccuums at the car wash with all the straw/hay in the back of the minivan. I need a truck.
Realized Ender doesn't actually eat the almonds in the trail mix he gets after swim lessons. I had a whole almond colony breeding under the car seats.
Stopped at that European bakery I always mean to stop at.
Bought the most delicious confections, kielbasa, and farmers cheese. Pierogis were to pricey.
Went to Home Depot
Bought wood for minicoop.
Came home, unloaded van.

The kids want to build it now, but I think they need a nap before we do any projects.

I need some little worker bees to come build me some stuff. All of this hard labor with no help is just a giant load of bull nuggets.

Speaking of dead cows, saw one in the field at the end of my street the other day. Was driving by and though hmmmm, that's a strange looking tree stump

And then I got a little closer and thought hmmmmmmm, that's a strange looking branch sticking out from that tree stump

And then I did a double take and thought that's a dead cow. With its legs sticking straigh out to the side

eeeeeewwwwwww
