Why do they always look like they wish they were back where it's warm & cozy and nobody notices how bloated and weird they look?

No, newborns look weird. But adorably preciously cute weird.

When I visit my daughter in Wisconsin I might have to go a few more hours and get some tacos with you. She's less than an hour east of the Twin Cities.

That would be GREAT! The taco place is in Brainerd, MN. Poncho and Lefty's.

This is estrogen talking.

Very likely. However, ok, I think it's a cute story. But it's clean, so I will share.

Annika was TINY when she was born. Like under 5 pounds tiny. So she wasn't too smushed and squished like a lot of other newborns - including her siblings. DH saw her in the nursery and comes back to my room "We have the CUTEST baby in the entire nursery!" I'm going, dear, newborns, they are NEVER that cute other than to Mom and Dad. DH won't hear it at all.

Well, we were holding her and the grandparents of another child were there. Grandpa was pointing to Annika and goes "Well, Joe is sure cute, but look at that little one, she is just the most adorable infant ever!"

Sigh. DH got proven right yet again. PM me if you want to see proof of the fact that she is still as of today adorable.
