That's what I did. Started with two pedigreed grand champions and an offspring of two pedigreed grand champions. Now I have to figure out how to tattoo the ear of my upcoming kits. And how to get papers on them.

Fun stuff. I also need to find the next local show.

I'm starting 4 pedigreed does and 1 pedigreed buck. Plus the 2 harlequin babies. Only 3 adults, the rest are babies but should be ready to show by fall when the shows start up again.

Sup, peeps?

Laree siiiick. Can't breathe, not gurgly, but like there is a coating of something on the insides of my lungs. Stong smells/particulates send my lungs into paralysis, and get me coughing.

My MIL HAS to stop smoking. She can't scoot far enough away from the house to smoke, and it all blows back into the house. The DH shaved today, and I almost keeled over from the stink pouring off him. I try oh so hard to escape the smoky stench of the MIL, but she follows me around asking if I am ok, offering to get me a Pepsi.

Since when has soda been good for curing anything but migranes or the barfs? Get the heck away from me you ashtray! You wouldn't be so darn tired if you drank something OTHER than Pepsi. very expensive habits. She'll go through a 12-pack a day. Let's not talk about the cigarettes!

Eat crap and die. And take a shower, WITHOUT THE STINKY SOAPS AND LOTIONS AND PERFUMES!!! IT COVERS UP NOTHING!

lungs seizing....must find chocoloate.

Nice Harlequins, Beaner! I've always loved that color, but I don't think Hollands come in that color.

I applaud your decision to start with quality stock. That's what I did, too. When DD wanted a pet bunny, I got her all interested in Holland Lops because I like Holland Lops. See how that works? The ones I remembered being the most satisfying pets were the English Angoras, but I knew I wouldn't have time to care for the coat, so my 2nd favorite sweetest rabbits were the HL.

I could choose to pay $39.99 at the local pet store for an unpedigreed pet-quality bunny or I could pay $10 more and get a show quality rabbit from a breeder that shows on the national level. Hmmm...what to do? I figured if I bought really nice rabbits, when the kids want to show with 4-H, they'll win. The kids call certain rabbits theirs and they've named them all rediculous names, but they're all really mine.

It's hard to let go of cute ones that don't fit in your breeding program. One of my does had the most beautifully colored little baby, but he's a buck and I don't need any more bucks and he looks like he's going to be big, so as much as I like him, he's getting sold this weekend. Although, I'm keeping one of his sisters even though she has paint-dipped ears (a DQ) because I really need does.

I buy all my rabbit stuff from www.klubertanz.com; I've been a customer since I was a teenager. Request a free catalog or download one as a pdf. They have tatoo kits. It's not hard to do and if you do it right (avoid the veins in the ears) it's not too hard on the bunny. Congrats!
