I Used to play hockey. Kept the gear in the garage....kept smelling horrible smells while wearing the helmt. Eventually figured out that my gear was under the baskets of potatos and one was so rotten it was DRIPPING. Right into my helmet.

Surely you both have lower-end grocery stores, that cater to mostly ethic groups? That is where the deals are.

Food City is the Mexican version of Bashas, which is the middle-class version of AJ's.

They are all owned by the Bashas family, with all the same suppliers, vendors, etc. Food City gets the "ugly produce", but they sell it at 1/10th the price. Today I bought 8 pounds of green tomatoes for $2, and 8 pounds of almost-over-ripe tomatoes for $2. Fried green tomatoes for dinner tonight, and spagetti tomorrow.
