Oh, what's wrong with the chicken?

Injured badly, really stinky stinky infection.
Can't walk. Not eating.

Oh poor thing. Not fun for you either. So sorry.

I use a machete and a tree stump. One quick whack and it's all over. Sorry you have to do that, Boo.

I have to cull one this week, too. My Buff Laced Polish hen, Pricilla, hasn't laid eggs in almost a year. I assumed she was just taking a long break, but recently I noticed her belly has gotten huge and hard and she is walking weird, so I think she's become an internal layer.

Man, chickens as pets can be rough on the spirit... One of my 4 girls seems to sit down a lot and breathe heavily... I wonder if she'll be the first to decline as she ages.

I would wait for the DH, if at all possible.

If you aren't strong enough to handle a machete and stump, or break the neck cleanly, then you can use hedge clippers or something with lever-action cutting. If that is not an option than you can

It's you.

Oh good. Because Algae eats bunnies and I didn't want anything to happen to a bunny that hops onto this thread.

Awww cute little bunny. I've never had rabbit and I only tried lamb about a month ago. Now that was delicious. My bunny was a rescue so no eating here LOL. But he did make great fertilizer for my rose bushes both before he died and after.

I dont know who to send a hug to first so mass ((HUG))! I still have my job but I only have it because two years ago the company said heres a dollar raise, drive the 62 miles one way or be without a job. So I drive an hour and fifteen minutes one way everyday. Makes for a very long day. But I am thankful for it. Once we get on the farm I'll be able to go down to part time.
