I'm trying to figure out how to lay out the inside of it.
It's a lot of space, I get running water and electricity
No more extension cords strung across the yard. We are building all the interior walls out of chicken wire, so I can lay it out any way I want and then if I want to change it, I can. I'm going to put doors between pens so I can have comunal living till breeding season and then close the layer flock off from the Icelandics till I'm done hatching. I figure I can get a second incubator and run staggered hatches, one in each bator, so I don't have too many chicks to deal with at one time.
Plus I'm planning on keeping a trio of turkeys (maybe) so I can get my own hatching eggs next year and not have to scrounge around or have them shipped in (which was an EPIC Fail!!!!)
My good friend who is the other half of my department (permitting) just handed me a land use permit for the building that lists the intended use as "Occupational Mis-Therapy"
She's been to my house, met my birds and even has one named after her

There are alot of people having a hard time, us included. However, as you pointed out, it could always be worse. I am thankful for the ability to still put food on the table, having a job, and a roof over our heads.
Sigh. I am Algae Downer still. Matt, friend and DH left. Matt is heading up to college after this. I wasn't ready for him to grow up this fast. MIL & SFIL are here to help now, so I am doing nothing, which we like in this heat.
