Michelle!

Love the paint job in your room!

I have a painting project in the works, too. I had begun stripping wallpaper in the dining room to prep for a new paint job, but that project got derailed by our destructive foster placement. Now that he's living with relatives, I can resume my project. The kids start school on Monday and I can get to work!

I just had that conversation with the kids. Jackie and Matthew were arguing with each other, so I told them any kids that continued to fight was getting an early bedtime. Then I asked if someone would volunteer to fight with me because I'd like to go to bed early. They got soooo quiet!

I said, "Fine, maybe Daddy will fight with me, then."

Let me know how that works for you. It's game night, does game scrimages (sp) count as fighting? And will it be enough to send me to bed?

Yay! It feels so good when it's done.

The Dining room is only the first room. I want to repaint the whole house (with the exception of the room you stayed in last summer, since I painted it then). So as good as it will feel to have the dining room painted, it's a drop in the bucket.

I informed DH that I wanted to redecorate the whole house and that includes lots of new furniture. I'm still using the dresser from Goodwill that I bought for $15 when we first got married 12 years ago. It's time for some grown-up furniture.

You have a big house, that will be a big job. But, if you pace yourself, it shouldn't be too bad, just do a little at a time.

And don't spend your travel money on decorations. I'm counting on seeing you at the wedding

I'm shopping for a livestock guardian dog. I think I've settled on a Maremma. Now I just need to find out how much to ship one up.

The last dog I shipped (the chicken killer I sent to my ex-husband) was almost $600.

I'm thinking a pup will be significantly smaller, so hopefully less expensive.

Once the kids go back to school, I should have time for it all.

Bill didn't bat an eyelash when I told him I wanted to spend thousands on new furniture. It was understood I can't actually buy anything until we have the money saved. *sigh* So it's not going to be an instant renovation. He told me to take the foster care checks and use them to buy some of the little stuff like paint, plaster and curtains.

I plan to end with a kitchen renovation.

I told DH when we bought this house that he owed me a new kitchen. When we were looking at houses, I wanted to buy a newer house so I can have a new kitchen and a master bedroom suite but DH really wanted this place, so I told him he had to renovate the kitchen for me and build me a master suite.

Wow! No breeders in AK? I never heard of Maremmas. I liked the sound of Anatolian Shepherds for a LGD. Or a mini donkey.

Woo Hooo! Your kitchen is big, which I like, but the wasted space isn't doing you any good. And with two boys, you are going to need WAAAAY more storage space for the truckloads of groceries those boys iwll be eating.

And when it's all done I'll have to come back and see the improvements ^-^
