Nope, none that I can find. I could get Pyrs locally but I'm not a fan.

maremmas look like Pyrs but they are more apt to stay home and not wander, and they are more level headed. I've also had people say they have trouble with pyrs and poultry, but I'm sure that is dependant on the specific dog.

I like Anatolians. I think the key if you want them to guard against significant predators is that you need a pair, so they can back each other up.

Great Pyrenees seem to be the generic LGD. Kind of like Golden retrievers are the generic family dog. But not the best fit for every thing, of course.

In this climate, I would go with a shorter haired dog. In your climate, probably not lol.

Akbash, Maremma, Tibetan Mastiff, Pyrenees, anatolian......or combinations. It seems like I see a lot of anatolian/pyrenees lately.

What i seem to remember about them is Pyrenees are more laid back, Tibetans can be a bit scary, anatolians are more aggresive than pyrenees but seems they are also more aggressive defenders.

Not so familiar on the others.

Painting: Everything that could go wrong---except me stepping in the pan or knocking over a 5 gallon bucket of custom paint---went wrong. I am still covered in paint. I am afraid to brush my hair.

Cici updating for my mom. I talked to Nonna already, you are second. Daddy made Mom go to the hospital, she has low blood oxygen stats. Doing better, the boys are fine, it's wait and see tonight. I'll update you later.

Cici again, I just talked to Mom. She is fine on oxygen and bed rest right now. She is kind of not happy about that. But Minotauro and Minotoro are doing great, so Mom said she will be fine being stuck in the hospital with them.
