Oh my goodness. I dont log on for a couple of days and y'all have chatted up what seems like a full novel! We had wind shears come through and took out our phone, internet, fencing and cover on the chicken run. Finally got everything back in place and the fence guys are out putting up a new fence. Deb and Algae congrats n the babies. They sound absolutely squishy and adorable. Sparkles peppers are the only plants that really did anything for me this year. My tomatos sucked and I got one little watermelon and thats pretty much it besides a little basil and mint. I see Dacs made it back and is in miserable office mode. I can so relate! ((HUGS)) to everyone. Oh and Nella I still plan on trying to sneak up to you and get two bunnies while DH is gone to Philly. He stated that I wasnt to get a single living thing while he was gone, I'm just gonna tell him I found them under the couch and love seat and call them dust bunnies! (He goes away and always comes home to something new LOL).

I made damnation cake......ITS SO GOOOOOOD! http://www.grouprecipes.com/91477/chocolate-damnation.html

Since we are applying for WIC because Dr says we need to, blah blah blah, makes for healthy babies when they are going to likely wind up on special formula blah blah blah.

But we do have to list Annika as she's under 5. So between her and me, we'll qualify for 5 dozen eggs a month.

Does that mean I can get more hens who actually lay instead of play stupid broody?

I can't believe the eggs that pullet of mine is cranking out. She's laid 20 eggs in the last 21 days.

The first couple of books were the best, I mean The Best. I read them when I was maybe eleven and life was grim and I wanted to crawl in and live there, thread or no thread. I'd have poisoned Lord Fax.

You know, I was just musing on the way to work that poison is a female weapon.

I splurged and downloaded the first three books in a set from iTunes for$9.99. Yum.

I was thinking sex-links or just Barred Rocks again. I like seeing the Rocks bopping around the yard, but I've got the Cuckoo Marans for that look - even if the hens are all stupid broody.

I'm voting cheap, egg laying fools. Lots of egg laying, no broody ideas in their stupid heads. Off to see what Murray McMurray has.

Gold Stars are just a fancy name for red sex links, I do believe. Mine came from Welp.

Never tried Welp before. Will consider them. We've used McMurray for the laying flock before and just had good luck with them. Lay like fools, sturdy chicks, all kinds of good points.

Only if it comes with flaming frosting

It's got alcohol in the glaze/frosting, you could light it ablaze.
