One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, out

Everyone is waiting for the light
be afraid, don't be afraid
the sun is shining out of my eyes
it will not set tonight
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the lightest star of all
Four
Here comes the sun

The sun is shining out of my hands
it can burn, it can blind you all
when it breaks out of the fists
it lays down hotly on the face
it will not set tonight
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the lightest star of all
Four
Here comes the sun
Five
Here comes the sun
Six
Here comes the sun
Seven
It is the lightest star of all
Eight, nine
Here comes the sun

The sun is shining out of my hands
it can burn, it can blind you
when it breaks out of the fists
it lays down hotly on your face
it lays down painfully on your chest
balance is lost
it lets you go hard to the floor
and the world counts loudly to ten

One
Here comes the sun
Two
Here comes the sun
Three
It is the lightest star of all
Four
And it will never fall from the sky
Five
Here comes the sun
Six
Here comes the sun
Seven
It is the lightest star of all
Eight, nine
Here comes the sun

Driving in snow in a state that knows how to handle snow - easy peasy.

Driving in snow in South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, etc - OMG, NEVER!

If the state gets snow normally and can handle it, it's fine. It's when a state that doesn't get snow gets 1/2", they don't have the means to clear the streets, so it's a cluster.

Let me tell you! When I first moved to Mississippi from Alaska we got about 1/2 an inch one day while I was at work. You should have seen the panic, no *hit! Coworkers burst out crying and left. Period, left the building. Here I am thinking what they hey? Course getting on the road with these yahoos with a teensy bit of snow on the ground is seriously cheating death if you can get home without playing bumper cars. NO snow removal equipment. NONE.
I miss Alaska.

Ain't that the truth! It's seriously dangerous to drive down here in the snow. These idiots think they know how to drive in the snow, but they don't, so it's just plain scary. Also, the city doesn't have the budget for snow removal, so you literally have to wait until it melts. The year we got 18" the mail didn't get delivered for 4 days.

oh we get the little re-imbursements, but we don't get wic, food stamps etc. Often times, for medical care, it is quicker and easier to pay out of pocket than it is to figure out if my bcbs or medicaid should pay for scripts. Other than that

Us, too. We get the monthly stipend from the state + medicaid + clothing allowance. No WIC or food stamps, either. I've only ever had foster placements, not adoptions or permanent placements, so I don't know if the benefits differ there.

I'm very curious what a family of 6 gets in food stamps per month. I strongly suspect it's more than my monthly grocery budget and I'd love to know what that number is so I can campaign to my DH that the grocery budget needs a raise. Anyone know where I can find out how much that would be?

Here is a good for you: My white pregnant daughter gets $163 a month in food stamps. Her Hispanic pregnant best friend gets $234. Neither has any kids besides the ones baking now. They are both in the same boat, same paddles, same EVERYTHING.

This may be offensive to some to point out race, however, they are best friends. And they both do not understand the difference. Katrina, obviously, is happy about it, while Sara wonders why she is the low one on the totem pole.

Can't blame the girl. I kinda want to know myself!!!

In Illinois I got a little over $400 a month with 2 children...so I budgetted a 100 a week for groceries.

Belle, the base amount is $838. If you have employment, it goes down, if you have high bills, it can go up, blah blah blah, yap yap yap. Plus you have under 5 yo, you'd get WIC also.

I am sitting on the couch, fan on, chores done, ready to watch the state's biggest games, Iowa v. Iowa State. I will see y'all in a few hours.
