The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities is closing the Richardson Highway from milepost 18 to 45, Thompson Pass, due to high winds and zero visibility. Winds in the area are 85 mph with gusts up to 120 mph. The duration of the closure is unknown, but conditions are forecast to remain the same through Wednesday morning.
