Nutmeg and cinnamon, two of my favorite spices.

I am hungry this morning. Famished, in fact.

I would add nutmeg and allspice. And cinnamon. Sounds good for a base recipe though.

AKA pie spice. I think that would make all the difference.

And I agree with you that condensed milk might have been more beneficial than the evaporated milk the recipe called for. But then you'd have to adjust the amount of sugar to balance things.

There is no sugar anywhere else in the recipe. That's why I figured it'd be a good swap. Who likes pumpkin pie with no sugar??? NOT ME. Altho one time when I was like 15 my mom forgot to put sugar int he pies for Thanksgiving... we all had a LOT of whipped cream on our pie that year....

I have the best pumpkin pie recipe ever, but I can't share it. It belongs to my mother and she would murder me.

Me, I share recipes that I come up with, because I want everyone to enjoy them. But not her!

My mom once covered the top of pancakes with salt and pepper instead of cinnamon sugar.

My mom managed to ruin squash last year for Christmas dinner. How do you ruin squash? I don't know, but she did. It was lumpy and tasteless and awful. From now on, I am volunteering for squash making duty.

Golden Acorn comes out great for me, but Golden Delicious? Watery and stringy. The kids wont even eat it with brown sugar.
