Good morning ladies! Sorry I have been out lately. We JUST finished year-end, finished up January close, and are now scrambling to get February closed before the auditors get here. Curse of the corporate accountant.

Everyone good? Any brawls lately? Buffster still buff?

Not much going on here. Kids are crazy, work is annoying, and I think my butt is bigger. Other than that, nothing special in Laree-land.

I DID want to let my fav office ladies know I am doing a give-away on my little blog tomorrow. I have some blown-out turkey eggs I am NEVER going to get time to do crafty stuff with, so I am giving them away in a little "contest". I may throw in a surprise too, I dunno. It starts tomorrow on my sad little blog. All you have to do is respond to the post with a guess of which chick ventured out of the brooder first. (You'll see---I dont care if you respond 6 times, once for each chick in the brooder) Do you think I should do a post in the BYC craft forum too?

Thoughts?

Laree, I've had goose eggs for almost a year now that I bought at an estate sale. I keep meaning to be crafty but Life always interupts.
I did make a felt vest this past weekend, though. I started it while in my car waiting for DD to get out of class Saturday. I worked on it more in the evening. It's cute but very... funky-looking. I practiced some embroidery on it and DH actually complimented me on the embroidery without any prompting

BTW

Yesterday DH and I were taking out the trash and he stopped to look in at the emu egg while asking if I thought it would hatch. As he looked into the bator I watched his eyes bug out just before he yelled, "There's TWO in there!! How'd there get to be TWO in there???!" and then he peered at me and said, "How long have there been two in there?"

I couldn't answer because I was busy doing this

After a minute he said, "Are they like amoeba and just divide? Will there be 4 in there eventually?" (the last part stated in a rather grim tone)

Once I got my breath I told him it had 'only' been in there since Sunday, and that emu egg season was almost over already. And that Oscar needed a friend, and no, I had no idea if Oscar was really going to hatch. I wanted him to hold Oscar while I tapped in the shell. Sometimes I think I feelt movement in there but maybe it's my imagination?

He was SCARED to hold it, and in fact freaked out that I was holding it and made me put Oscar back in the bator. Actually said "whew" when Oscar was safely put away....
