Dang. Well, have fun ripping your house apart for her twelve maids a milking.

HA!
Success.
Had to go through 6 boxes to find them, but if DH wasn't secretly boxing up books behind my back they'd have been where I thought they were. His punishment in 6 boxes strung out across the basement...
(He says if I'd get rid of all my 'candle crap' he'd put bookshelves all across another wall of the basment. I love my candle stuff though.)

In the meantime, I found the Junie B Jones books I wanted to give to my niece. Including Junie B Jones Has Peeps In Her Pocket. Its a classic....

And a D&D Players Handbook (copyright 1978) that ought to have DD laughing hysterically.

www.paperbackswap.com I love it!

Um... wouldn't that mean I have to send a book to someone else?
That's not one of my strengths.

Send a book, get a credit and you can "spend" your credit on any of the 4.6 million books on the site.

Personally I like posting cheap kids' books and spending my credit on cookbooks or out-of-print books.

I get kid's books from my library's freebie rack and put them in the vacation rental homes that I clean every Saturday. I figure that if a kid is bored enough, he'll be forced to read "Ducky Gets a Bath", and "Bunnies are People Too", and then develop an addiction to reading like I have. I"m a book pusher.

Used to. Then I discovered PartyLite and sell them on the side to support my 'habit'. There are enough candle-addicts around that its fairly easy to keep myself supplied. But it requires that I keep demo stuff around and DH is anti-clutter.

I actually do share good books with others if I know they'll like them. But I reread books constantly and so there are some that just don't travel. I knew I had a whole library of Terry Pratchett books - They're in a box I just went through, along with a dozen other books I've been looking for. I knew DH was boxing them but was never sufficiently motivated to go through the boxes. Until today.
Why is it such a big deal if books are double-stacked? Does it really matter?

Buffy, I push books as well. I was going to buy my niece a copy of the Peeps book, but she only reads them in order. It's #15 and she's on #7. I didn't want to buy 8-15 all at once. Now I can mess with her little world and send her #8, 11, 12, 15, 17, 18, & 19. I love rocking the world of up-and-coming OCD-ers!

Tee hee. All the piles of books and open boxes will mess with DH's OCD.
Icing on the cake of my day.

I am a collector, not a disperser. Go with what you're good at.

Oh. Lucky me. I'm in Buffy sig line. I feel so..... honored???

I tried to share the joke - but J didn't get it. He's such a "non- chicken" person.

But we weren't talking about chickens any more.
Maybe he just can't keep up with us....

Well technically we could be talking about choking said chicken..........

Hey I didn't get to be post #5000 I might as well get banned.

Peaches come from a can
They were put there by a man.......

Men are too lazy to can peaches. The women canned them and the men ate them.

You did NOT kill your own thread. I just had to go get DD from band camp. At which point I realized I left my phone at work. Bet they loved hearing it ring every 3 minutes as DD tried to call me.
On the plus side, she now knows why I got sooooo freaked out when she wouldn't answer her own phone.
And she had her first butt call, but it scared her until I explained. Turns out she calls them pocket calls. Imagine that; Tasteful labels from a 14-year old!
