Office Work.......

Pretty sad to be so ultimately bored that filing, and deleting old e-mails & PM's are tackled.
Even worse, that's all done and there's still no one to 'play' with. <sigh>

My boss wants me to go back to full time. There isn't 2 hours of real work, and about the same in busy work. I think the basic reason for wanting me back is so that I can answer the phones. If the ladies upstairs answer the phones, there is a 75% chance that someone will hear the baby crying / fussing / chortling.
And another baby is due before spring

Am seriously considering goiing back to school....

Hi Lori - don't go back to school. They make you learn stuff there!

I loved the concert last night. I'm not normally a concert goin' person because I get the creeps being around too many people at once, but I have to say, this was a pretty cool event. Believe it or not, his final song was "Jesus is the Answer". Wow.

And now for the dress I got for $3 from a thrift store which reminded me of AKMichelle and her bold fashion sense, I took this pic a few minutes ago to PM her because she was nagging me. Forgive the no-makeup look... Michelle, my mentor, thank you.

Yes, I miss Batty and Laree too. Maybe Batz got electrocuted when her electricity came back on. I have to go on Google to see what they're doing.

I KNOW! I felt like singing All the Leaves are Brown and buying white go-go boots! They say if you were around to wear a fashion trend the first time, you should definitely forego wearing it the second time. But c'mon, it was $3 and it fit! Although it was a bit racy around the neckline so I stitched it up to respectability. No bendover delights from me!

I'm here, I'm here...........new system at work..........shoot me now. it's actually not bad its just having to get used to a whole new system............sigh.

14 chickens leaving my place on Monday........What to do, what to do. I'm really enjoying downsizing. I had gotten to where I had so many chickens I really only had time to do the basics, because they took soooo long. There was always someone with a booboo or who "looked funny" and needed special attention. Feeders to be filled, had to have feeding stations everywhere that got filled daily so everyone could get a bite, a pen here, a pen there, roosters fighting in the rooster pen, etc etc etc. Sold 7 ducks and 27 chickens last week and lost the 3 to a hawk. that's 37 birds gone from the property over 3 days......It's made a huge difference. And after the 14 leave on Monday, that will be 51 birds gone in a week and a half. I actually have time to bring treats out again....the girls have been getting cantaloupe at night and all of my leftovers of course. I even had time to finally make the big 50lb bucket feeders finally that I have wanted to do for ages. And hang up extra brackets for feeders and wateres to hang from.

My boyfriend even commented last night that i was in a good mood. It was so NICE to get some things crossed off my TO DO list. Sad part is that it took about 2 hours to make those new feeders, hang all of the new brackets, and get everyone fed watered and squared away for the night. And I think it will save me about a half hour a day now. So once Tuesday hits I will just be gaining time every day.

Happy NellaBean.

Today I learned that Nella has Wayyyyyyy more of a chicken overpopulation issue than I do, which isn't saying much....

I also realized that I do NOT have 'cull' my black d'Uccles to keep them from spreading their genetics all over TN (I refuse to sell them). Instead, I've decided to contact a couple of likable hobby breeders that already have my MF's and see if they want to assist my project. That would help me get more genetic records as well as help the folks that want quality birds, because I'd trade current birds for future ones (offspring of the current set). Does that make sense?

And I think the chicks will be absolutely gorgeous!!
And if I get 'pick of the litter' then I can also keep improving my own genetics, while leaving my partners with some pretty darn nice birds as well.
Does that sound fair? I'd do it if someone offered it to me....

I have winter room for 20 adult bantams. 25 if I let them free-range a lot on nice days.

I currently have 23 adults and... 32 chicks. With more chicks on the way.
And I'd have more than 32 chicks if I wasn't culling harshly for significant flaws. Culling harshly is a sad thing, but I really want to improve d'Uccles.

It does fit you nicely!
I do not have the kid of cleavage that offers delights, anyway.

Speaking of cleavage delights............when I went to TSC and rampaged through the bantam bin back during chick days, there was a young male employee who felt the need to stand on the opposite side of the bin and help me pick birds out. Gee, ya wonder why.
