Okay, for now, we believe you.

Just in time for me to go back downstairs to roast some tomatos for the plain pizza DH is bringing home for dindin tonight. He's beat, I'm beat, the cupboards are bare and the cat food doesn't look as appetizing as it usually does.

See ya'll Monday afternoon, or maybe I'll pop in with some pithy remarks this weekend that will provoke reactions and hopefully, well-deserved insults.

Here's hoping Belle doesn't deliver early - before her well-deserved shower, the real kind, with water and soap and everything.

XXOOOO to you all.

Hi ya'll.

Sorry I was absentee for some many posts.
Wednesday DD had to leave school early because she wasn't feeling well. The school nurse suggested she get tested for strep 'just in case'. Apparently its been making the rounds.

Since I've been feeling like crud for a while, and my ears were starting to ache (I hate that) I decided to book us a double appointment. The strep test was negative. I am on antibiotics. We were told that we're both plague carriers at the moment, so we both stayed home today and rested.

I mostly rested. I threw a pork roast in the crock pot this morning for dinner, and threw some formerly frozen apples in the dehydrator. And I laid around a lot. Day 2 of the Z-pack...

Beaner, sorry to hear about your slip into fall. I'd send you some eyeballs if I had any to spare.

Orchidpants, sorry you've had crud. I avoided BYC since I was under the influence and too zombied for typing.
Also, go to my Byc page and you'll see some mille fluers. Go back in a few days and you'll see a LOT more, as I post pics of the newbie millies....

Dacs, It's actually referred to as Worker's Comp nowadays, due to the whole politically correct thing, but I can see why you'd want to throw as much masculinity into this thread as you can.
My spouse thought my 'virtual friends' were a little weird too. Now this he's met so many of them he's had t admit they are A) actually real people and B) only weird in the chicken thing, but not any weirder than his non-virtual friends.

Buffy, if I buy you a plane ticket you'd really come scrub my house? How about my coop? It actually needs it worse.

Michele, have a lovely trip!!
And nice to see your chick quarantine advice was the same as mine

I feel like I've missed someone....

Belle! How could I forget Belle!! She's as round as this smiley and just as frustrated...

It wil get better soon, hopefully

Last, but not least. I seriously need to rehome some birds
hmm.png

I locked them all in for the night, since we won't stay in the 30's for very long. They don't actually fit... Not without fights breaking out. I have homes for 6 birds. That's nowhere near enough....

Hope everyone has a safe, happy, healthy, well-fed weekend!

No meltdowns today, so that was good.

I actually managed to finish the Great Attic Reorganization and switch out all the kids' summer clothes for winter clothes, weeding out outgrown clothes and storing everything properly in my newly organized attic. It took me all day and I'm beat. At least I could stay sitting down for clothes sorting. I put on an audiobook to amuse myself. My bedroom is clean now, too, since most of the mess was clothes that needed to be sorted and stored in the attic.

I got pretty frustrated because I found a whole tote of cute 4T summer clothes that Ella could've worn this past summer, I doubt they'll fit next summer. Even more frustrating that I found the really cute 4T Halloween outfit that I was frantically searching for the day of her Halloween party and couldn't find. That won't fit next year either. I used to be so organized in my life-before-children.

Nella - sorry you fell down the stairs - those bruises look really painful! I love the comment on getting the crust just right!

The last few weeks are the hardest - the baby's running out of room and when he stretches, it's really uncomfortable, so I want to be done and be able to sleep on my stomach again, but I know babies are a lot more work to take care of after they're born, so I think I'd rather just stay pregnant.

Orchid and Wegots - hope you feel better soon! I hate being sick.

Buffy - you are such a sweetie! If I could afford to fly you down here, I'd do it in a heartbeat! Ella actually likes it when you try to suck her up the vacuum cleaner. She doesn't quite fit up the hose, but it's not from a lack of trying on my part. Now that I've got that big attic project out of the way, hopefully I can concentrate more on the regular housework and I won't feel so overwhelmed. DH told me he was pretty sure they'd let us take the baby home from the hospital even if I don't have the changing table set up where I wanted it. I threw something at him, but I throw like a girl.

Michelle - I know you're on vacation without your laptop, but have fun!

Dacs - we're counting on you to get pictures of Michelle and her beau.

Thanks for all the hugs, everyone!

Holy wow, wegots! Wish I could take some of those wild colored birds off your hands. I don't care if they're show quality or not, I just want something pretty running around my yard. Besides me, of course.

Sorry you and DD have been under the weather. I hope you can get lots of rest this weekend!

Can't wait. I feel like throwing some insults.

OK, I stand corrected but will probably forget and commit that sin again.

That's okay, everybody does. I got corrected a lot by an picky supervisor in a former job. That's the only reason I remember nowadays....

A paper cut only qualifies if the finger rots and requires serious medical care.

Got a bator? I have some eggs that are sitting waiting for someone to hatch them. I can't. Seriously.
Everyone needs eye-candy birds in their yard.

I feel worse today. Headache, hurts to breathe. About to go take a nap. Can feel the meds kicking in. Sucks to be sick.

Dacs? Is that YOU?

Hi Belles, I got something for you today...... [sneaky, self-satisfied expression on my face...]
Gotta make some soap and cookies now...

In the past, I've sent out packages and letters with papercut blood on them. Hey, if the company is worried about spreading bloodborne diseases to strangers, then they should give me the day off!

(PS: I do not possess any bloodborne diseases, but how does my company know that?)
