On my run today, I took my cheapo camera ($100) to try to learn it better. My left hamstring has decided it does not appreciate art combined with physical fitness and is now ensconced on a frigid pad of ice. Art sucks, because 99% of my shots sucked.

Note to self: shooting into the sun on Cape Cod in November sucks. This was a run from my house to the beginning of the village of Wellfleet - and I only had to take 128 jogging steps on a busy road to get to it. The rest were on deserted dead end roads and sand.

Anyway, a random cottage on Duck Creek (it looks like perfect getaway heaven to me...)

A few steps further, this is what they build as a perfect getaway nowadays (same view as humble cottage):

But of course, when you have a hurtin' hammy, this is the sight you want to see, the best of all...

I don't think I have a picture of that particular haircut on this computer, but I know I have one at home.

We were looking through old photos the other day and my DH said "My wife has had more hairstyles and colors than ANYONE." With the exception of a few movie starlets he is pretty nearly correct, I think.

COOKING 101:

Oh, I thought I bought baking POWDER... Apparently I bought baking CHUNKS! (although to be honest, the exp. date on the can was Oct 2010)

Me too! Next time I go by it I will peek in the windows. It looks like the type of CC cottage that isn't year-round, so I wont' risk being shot. I clean a cottage something like that - it is heaven - no TV. Just the basics where you sit in the screened porch with a candle and forget your real life...

This is what I just baked with the Baking Chunks. Also have Ground Chairleg bread in the rising stage (made with genuine ground chairlegs marketed as 259-grain hot cereal which even the chickens won't eat). The Cranberry recipe is from "Taste of Home" circa 2001 that I got from my library's freebie rack yesterday. It's cooling ... haven't tasted it yet.

Note to Dacs: I took many pics of dead creatures on my run today but the photo quality was poor (i.e. no gore detail), so I didn't upload them to BYC.

But in my sighting list was:
1. dead de-eyeballed Pilot Whale in marsh grass of Duck Creek
2. three dead Eiders (they love to come to Wellfleet Harbor to croak and depress us with their carcasses)
3. umpteen billion horse shoe crabs in various state of dismantlement
4. dead cormorants (which is sort of okay because they are the starlings of this area - moral judgement YES)
5. a car tire which, as I was jogging away, I named "tire-onisaursis rex".

Must log off now to make another boring salad dinner for DH. All I can think about is Nella's daily cornicopia of gustatory surroundings. For all that being physically fit does for me, I'd rather be incredibly well-fed and croak young .

Okay [rolling eyes...] who did you insult now?

You can find the way on my facebook page. I don't think I insulted anyone.
