Sounds like a frigid morning there. That's the only thing I hate about having outdoor pets - their maintenance gets so unpleasant in winter.

Thank goodness I have the no-freeze water thingy out back. It is at the top of the hill, but at least I can use it to fill buckets outside. I only have 3 pens, plus the big yard....and the garage brooders of course. Not as bad as it could be! Last winter, I just kept a big dish by the water thingy and broke the ice out every morning and refilled. Worked well enough for me.

Oh, so it's all about YOU, is it? Never mind that your little friends are marching around with picket signs protesting cruel drinking and bathing conditions...

Ooh ooh ooh ooh......I have to brag about my dehoarding.....LOL....my living room is cleaner now than it has been in probably years. Clutter free! Tonight is the kitchen.......it is the last room that has not been touched in the decluttering spree. It looks horrible right now because as I clean rooms, anything that needs to go outside moves in there, anything that needs to go into the dog room or past it moves in there, etc.

My house will be so glorious! I spent the 2 hours watching Hoarders last night just basking in the glory of my freshly decluttered living room, LOL.

Well when those little lazy feathered friends of mine bust out the work boots and make a contribution to their living expenses, I may take them into consideration. Until then. PFFFFFT.

I can see it the aura of satisfaction radiating from the halo hovering above your uncluttered head. Congratulations on your dominion over the elements in the living room!

Ha ha ha ha, you are so funny. I don't think there has EVER been a halo over my head

Oooh, check out the puppy I am thinking of adding to the family here. Okay okay, yes I already have 4 dogs. But, you know. Um. Yep.

http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17527323

She looks a lot like my "old dog" that died in 2005. I think she would fit in well with the "old dog club" I currently have going on here. the young dogs are their own group.

Nells, I love that second pic of her, looking out the window. I greatly admire your considering a senior dog. If adding her to your herd won't stress the other dogs, your man, or your household, then I would say "make her day!".

Yes, they should. Sorry I wasn't more specific. The recipe I have that my mom gave me that came from her mom is even less detailed than what I typed on here...we tend to be "add a smidge of this and a dash of that until it's right" type cooks (and I guess bakers). Which is fine until things start to get lost in translation; for instance, the recipe I have does not tell you to cut the loaves into slices before baking!

I emailed them last night looking for more info. The ad says she likes cats and dogs, is crate trained and very sweet. That's about all it takes to fit in here. My little toy poodle will hate her, like she always does with "new" animals. My old shepherdX Toby adored my old dog that passed in 05....and he likes all dogs. I think he would love her. Frankie and Molly, the young dogs, should tolerate it. They both like other dogs....but spend all their time together since they are too rough with them.

She is about 3-4 hours away from here.....I emailed them to see about how big she is, about how old they think she is and if she likes small dogs as well. She sounds like an old dog who was neglected all her life and is incredibly thankful now for anything and therefore loves everything. The picture of her looking out the window looks JUST like my old dog.
