If he weren't so dang pretty he'd be dead.
He cannot stay here. If the buyer doesn't want to ammend the sale, then I will take him to OH and sell him there. I had actually entered him, before I decided that he was too big of a PITA.

If he is by himself, he paces, frets and spazzes over every little noise and movement until he puts my own nerves into frazzle.

He has just got to go.

Sad part is, ther are 2 other hens in the pen, that both decided to go broody. Now I'm wondering if it was simply to avoid the pretty bully. And, sadder still, they haven't been very dedicated to the setting process. The eggs are due TONITE and not anywhere near full enough to hatch. That's bad, you know? It means any who do hatch will likely have issues.

I am sooooo tired of ISSUES!!!

BTW, the broiled baby comment was mild for you. I've heard worse

i'm not sure if thats her response to my broiled baby comment, or husband rage.

or the fact that I told her what kind of camera I was using earlier while somebody danced around...

We've already seen pics of Beaners bargaining power, and their superior ability to hold up a..... rooster.

Errands.

I spent most of the morning mad at the world - not my normal state - I don't know how Nella has the stamina for it. The kids were hard to get ready for school, DH fogot to put the trash out 2 weeks in a row (and I didn't feel qualified to chase the truck in my current state), I left the house without eating breakfast, the first 3 stops I had to make on my errands the stores weren't open yet, I didn't have nearly enough money for all the groceries we needed and all this coughing makes my belly feel very sore. I felt much better after DH took me out for a late breakfast. That's 2 meltdowns in a week - I'm ready to be done with these pregnancy hormones - almost wish I did know a way to up the oven temp to broil. Although post-partum hormones (compounded by intense sleep deprivation) are even worse than pregnancy hormones, so that would be jumping from the frying pan into lowest level of hell. After the baby, I think I'll avoid posting until I can be civil.

I've caught whatever sickness is making the rounds - I had Ella at the Dr Monday (ear infection) and Jackie at the Dr tonight (another ear infection.) I can hear Matthew coughing in his bed all the way across the house. I very rarely get sick, this is my 1st cold in about 4 years and I hate being sick. I really don't want to bring a brand new baby home to a house full of sick people; I hope the baby stays put until everyone is feeling better.

When I went down to feed the animals - one of my rabbits was looking a little off. He's one of my favorites and he's one of the nicest looking rabbits I've ever produced. I have great hopes for him in my breeding program and if he dies, I will be very upset! Please be okay, Spot.

(The kids picked out his name.)

Maybe it's just me, but my heart breaks every time a female gets hurt or killed just because her body has desirable plumbing. It just breaks my heart. I mean, all a hen or woman wants to do is just enjoy life, eat a lot and be cute. Then wham! some POS decides to be a sh t and make her life miserable.

Just breaks my heart. So no more stories about hens ruined, denuded or killed by POS useless male birds on this thread okay?

[mad at the world now!]

Now I'm mad at Belle's world too! She's getting the short end of the stick too, just cuz she's a girl. This is not right.

We need to get Dacs on the case. Just look at his sig line! - "My mission is to avenge the helpless and to aid the oppressed." Dacs, come over here and kill some useless piggy male birds and maybe drop kick Belle's man for her.

This, too, shall pass.

I really am very blessed in many ways, so I don't have too much to complain about. I'm sorry to hear about your high-maintenance Roo and the little hen you lost. Definately get rid of him. Did you hear back from the pending buyer for the trio?

Thanks, Buffy! That was yesterday, but I'm back to my cheerful self this morning. The kids weren't too hard to get ready and out the door. Ella doesn't have preschool on Tues or Thurs, so those are my days when I get to stay home. I always have big plans to get a lot done around the house on those days, but most of the time, I just sit here and chat with y'all.

Since I'm sick today, I planned to stay in pajamas all day and drink hot apple cider.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, my little jerkwad bantam mottled cochin rooster got his arse kicked yesterday by the other roosters. AGAIN. 2nd time since he has lived with me and at least 3rd time in his life. Last time he was blind for a week because his face was so swollen...he was almost scalped. This time his face is shredded again but his eyes are open and he was eating scratch with the flock, so I left him with them today. Little bugger. He is HILARIOUS but has an attitude and a half and is pushy with the ladies. One of the boys seemed to think he needed a lesson in manners.

I hate roosters who are rude to the girls. Even though my flock is over-roostered right now, the nice part about having so many boys out and about is that they don't tolerate mean breeding. If a girl screams, 3 or 4 of the boys come running and they will all knock each other off of her. My old Jersey Giant rooster was polite, even though he absolutely squashed the girls LOL.
