Orchy! You and me both Hon! I've been hitting the sweets lately - not hard, but considering I never indulge in them, it's rather traumatic!

I'm a slacker.

I took DD to her orthodontist and then came home. The roads aren't pleasant, but they aren't bad enough to stay home. I'm getting chores done, though.

I took some leftover turkey ick from the carcass out to the birds. The boys in the survive-or-die pen ate some. All the other birds looked out and said, "Smells tasty. Why is it on a bed of white stuff? I'll eat it when the weather warms up." Slackers.

An adorable silkie chick hatched. It's a tiny bit of heaven, but it's mom is a goober. I can't put it in with the 3-week olds. They were cowering in fear from it's tiny cuteness, and it was clear they'd shun it or stomp it to death. So I put it under Princess Sophie and took away the eggs she was semi-neglectfully setting on. She was making mommy noises, so I have hopes.
If I bring it inside DH will

and I will have hell to pay.
I have enough hell and don't want to pay for more....

If I go out later, and it's alive but neglected, I wil pay for hell at that time. But I gotta be able to say I tried to keep it in the coop.

I cut out chocolate in favor of cookies, so I'm hoping that helps somehow.

Ha. Be careful. There's a wicked virus going around. I ate less this weekend than I eat in a single normal day

And I shed more of it, too.

But my skinny jeans have room for long johns on under them

OK it wasn't really that bad, and might actually have been the pizza I ate for lunch on Friday. By mid-day Saturday I was feeling better, but just never got back to eating sweets.
(DD was reading over my shoulder and reminded me that I was really only whiny Friday night...)

Lori, I had a similar problem this weekend. Too many chicks, not enough brooders. I finally combined a batch of 5 month olds and a batch of 5 week olds. As you can imagine, that went over like a fart in a wind tunnel. Oh well, sink or swim, live or die. Those darn 5 month olds were struggling out in the cold weather and I think i would have lost them last night had I not moved them back in. It's my own fault for not leaving them out of the brooder earlier in the year.....oh well.....

This past weekend when Pete's daughter visited, we went shopping in the posh village of Chatham.

This game caught my eye. It seemed to be the BYC Theme Game.

Nells, sorry that the people at the shelter had their heads up their vents about that girl.

I have to head downstairs now, bringing my wicked headache and grouchy tiredness with me. Those cold germs still have me singing their tune. Not even three ibuprofen and Barefoot Pinot Grigio is helping me at the moment. Tomorrow I'll be on BYC all day. (Yay!)

Okay, going downstairs to make boring dinner salads and exciting Orchy's NonPepNonKu cookies. I'll save some for Nells.

'Night y'all.

(And now for a moment of silence for Laree's horrible fate - A New Job That Starts Immediately)
