Belle, love the pictures. I've missed you around here.

Nells, that is one adorable cat. Merry Christmas to her, and to you! There's a black cat at our humane society right now named Tar. Don't think I've ever known a cat named Tar before.

It's Monday. I dropped my main cordless phone in the dogs' water bowl this morning and it died a wet and gasping death. Now neither of my cordless phones work, since the other one is a slave to the main. Guess I'm phone shopping this afternoon. Youngest DS isn't feeling well again, either, so he's at Grandma's after a strep test at the clinic. Is it Friday yet?

Orchy, you might need to just go sit in a padded room and not move for the rest of the day.

We had honey baked ham and smoked turkeys donated to my work from our vendors......so we are having a potluck today. I just finished scarfing down smokey turkey, mashed taters and gravy, mac and cheese and cornbread.....about to dive into the dessert table next. Some sort of cupcakes (red velvet?), chocolate covered oreos and fancy cookies. Lord help me......

Did I mention I split a pair of pants last night? Sigh.

I love black cats....and they are the last to be adopted. So it is just win-win. I feel like I am "saving" something and the cat gets a good home. There was a super sweet little white and tabby kitty there that I feel bad to leave behind.

Sounds delicious Nells!

I have a PB & J bun, chips, an orange and a chocolate pudding.

DS has strep again. I swear schools are nothing but plague incubators.

He and I took the dogs to the vet on Saturday, and they have a cute little long hair calico female there for adoption. He cried when I said we couldn't take her home. I'm afraid he is infected with the same animal bug I have, the poor kid.

My old Fluppy dog is starting to have fluid buildup in her lungs and chest due to her heart murmur, so she's on Lasix now along with her Enacard and aspirin. It makes me very sad, even though I know she doesn't care...

Aw, I have two dogs with heart murmurs. The old poodle, who was given the choice of using meds or not using meds when she was at Grade 2 of 5......she is now at Grade 4, so she needs to start up on meds. My old Shepherd mix had a heart murmur, not sure on the grade. It just started now, but he is covered in tumors and other issues.

Poor old dogs. At least they have a good life while they live with us. My crazy cat Norman (who is going to be PI$$ED about the new cat) has had seizures and urinary problems since he was about 1.5 years old. He is now going on 10 years old. Even if he died tomorrow, he sure had a great life while he was here and lasted a lot longer than we expected. This morning I had to give him his pill and he was ignoring me calling him.....so I had to go back to my bedroom, dig him out from under the covers of MY bed and carry him to the laundry room so he could get his pill. Spoiled rotten little brat. He is King of the Hill. He may get along with other cats, but he is not going to be happy about sharing his throne.

Fluppy is 15, which is ancient for a basset hound. My vet is always amazed that she's "still going!" as she puts it.

And really, she is still perfectly happy and even gets up the energy to trot around the yard (where the snow is packed down, at least), so I know she's not feeling awful. I just don't look forward to the day when we have to make that dreaded decision.

On a lighter note, cat related. DS's cat Spearmint has taken to waking us up anywhere between midnight and 5 a.m. He seems to think it's a game...DH and I are NOT AMUSED. So last night I had a brilliant idea, armed myself and was ready when at 12:30 he proceeded to use our bed as a trampoline....Spearmint now smells deliciously of Vanilla Fields perfume, and stayed out of our room the rest of the night.

Orchy, DH though the pepperkuku were bland, but I suspect it is because my spices are a bit old. And I wish I'd added more ginger...
DD tried a kuku, and liked them the way they were. I had drizzled orange frosting over some of the kuku's for DH, and he liked them that way but DD said it drowned out the spices. What a picky crew I live with.

Beaner, Napkin is adorable and I know she'll love her new home. Norman will adjust.

Belle, it took about 40 shots, and there were others that were cute, but the one on the card was what DH calls the 'money shot'. I love digital cameras!! We had 3 of them snapping away. Glad you like the card. Yours is adorable too!

Lori, my DH devours the kuku, but my kids won't touch them. They're not a cookie for everyone, that's for sure. They're kind of the mushrooms of the cookie world.

Our latest snowstorm has begun. Wheeee.

Belle- WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BABY! Congratulations. Cutest baby, ever.

I hope everyone's day is going well. I have another post on Farmbell, which means my site is getting heavy traffic. It wigs me out when someone goes through and reads all my posts in one sitting (you can see this in the site stats). Sure, it is flattering, but there's always some strange fan mail along with it.

Anyway back to work!

Well crud, I hate mushrooms

My own personal snow storm is starting. Parents flew in late last night and boyfriend is driving down tomorrow. Regional Sales Manager is coming up tomorrow for some training and margarita-time, er, uh, I mean we are going to go to to dinner

Me and the boyfriend are going with all the family. Thursday is two sets of buyers coming to pick up chickens.....then starts the actual holiday madness......
