The birds she wants are the same ones that are gearing up to lay their first eggs, so I don't mind at ALL if she wants to wait a while to get them

In a few days they will get a randy young roo living with them, and they should allllll be nicely fertile by the time we get past the pullet eggs.

And I'm breathing easier because I sold 5 hens and 8 teenagers today. There is a feeling of space in the coop! I have 42 birds now, not 55. AAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

g actually took people's advice and took the dried up tree out of the house.

g, they make a little cheese grater like thing for your feet, it works pretty good.

I know...it's a pedi-egg. I've got one. I've gotten it down using that but right now it hurts inside the crack. I've actually taken a razor blade and sliced it down some...it hurt less than going back and forth on it with the grater and it got more accomplished. I can get it down and then in a week it's right back. I guess it has to be a daily routine. I'm a big sluffer I guess.

Got put on some antibiotics friday....apparently they react horribly with alcohol. So I am not allowed to have alcohol for 12 days. YAY ME.

.......at least I still have my crazy pills...

Have you seen the weather forecast lately? Talk about indecisive. You may be snowed in Wed... or not.

I am leaving here Friday no later than noon to make the drive. Earlier if weather is bad. Trying to be in Dayton, OH by 5ish as we have dinner plans around 6ish. I think that puts me in her area around 3:30 ish? Hard to say until I'm on the way. If you can get them to me on Thursday, they can live in my carport brooder until I leave. Or even Wednesday would work I guess....those brooders are empty now and will stay empty permanently.


Every time i look at the weather forecast its different than before. So confused. Wasn't it supposed to rain this weekend? or not.

It was supposed to rain today, but that got pushed back until Mon-Tues.
I may see if I can get them to you Wednesday. Weather depending. If not then, I'll try for Thurs. We can reassess as needed.


Empty brooders wow. Mine will never be empty. Until the feces hits the rotary blade.

Soon I will be hatching an emu for Batty...

I have 4 empty brooders right now. two 2x4 brooders in the carport and two 2x8 brooders in the garage. Last 9 sale birds left today, so I moved 10 birds from the garage. 2 older teenagers and 8 x 11 week olds. They moved to the big yard with the other birds. I only have 2 brooders left with chicks and they are now separated by sex. Girl brooder, boy brooder. This downsizing is GREAT.
