My 10yo DD is a Girl Scout. Due to the baby, I was totally unmotivated to sell cookies this year. She had to sell 12 boxes to get a patch for her vest, so between my neighbor and I, we met the quota and I quit actively selling. I felt a little guilty for not trying harder, but Jackie recruited her best friend to join Girl Scouts this year and her friend's mom sold over 200 boxes. So I feel I've done my part for the Girl Scouts by encouraging the little girls mother to sign her up for Girl Scouts.

Of the boxes of GS cookies I bought, I got to eat exactly 3 cookies before my rotten offspring devoured them all.

Nothing was more fun than pulling out a box of carefully stashed Thin Mints from the freezer and hearing collective gasps from the family. I put them under the frozen veggies. No one ever touches those!

All the poultry swaps I've gone to have been in Tractor Supply parking lots. They love to host these things because people buy a couple of chicks in the parking lot and immediately go in and buy food, heat lamp, chicken wire, etc.

No GS cookies for us. Those things are a scam. (Sorry, Belle and daughter of Belle!) My MIL makes the world's best cookies, plus they're free, and chock full of love. Can't get better cookies than that.

We don't have Tractor Supply here, the closest is an hour and a half away, but I bet my local farm store would LOVE to have a poultry swap in their huge oversized parking lot.

All is well here. Baby has been unusually content and full of smiles. I'm kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop, but have been enjoying the day regardless. I stayed in pajamas all day and have been laying in bed reading a book while nursing the baby.
