I love it, too. DH wishes the seams for the color blocks were on the inside, not outside, but I think it looks cool. Plus you won't notice them when I get done embellishing. All the external stitching is done with blanket stitches.

I took a pic of the flower on the back but it's really blurry. I'll get a better one tomorrow, because it's bedtime here. DH is snoring and making me tired.


I told DH about telling the emu-ba story. He said, "I'm glad I can provide enterrainment for you and your imaginary friends." He was smiling when he said it. He made no comment when I joked about him finding 4 eggs in there next time he looked. He scolded again about timelines, and I pointed out that I could set eggs as late as March 20-22 and be okay. He didn't cringe.

I need to learn more about emus. I read things liek "it was incubated for a while in the wild and then I got it"...which makes me question the developmental processes involved.

They are fascinating, and would probably 'cook' really well where you live because the eggs need low humidity. The male emu sets the nest, hatches, and raises the chicks.

est part is they're really protective of their flock, which is whatever they're raised around. From what I've read, new livestock has to be introduced carefully to make sure it doesn't become a target.

I'd take them cute little gray chicks, but they've got really strange growths on their feet, sorta like extraneous feathers or something. They musta been hatched near a nuclear power station.
