The sun rises over mountains in Tennessee, too.

I'd like to visit AK, but not until the snow melts. And then I've been told your mousquitos are big enough to fly in supplies if you could train them....

Nope, not true. They're the same size as mosquitoes in the lower 48. They make up for it in numbers, there are a lot more, swarms.

DH says when he was stationed in AK the mosquitos sounded like helicopters they were so big.........
He doesn't like it when I tell him he exaggerates about size.

We do have different varieties, some bigger some smaller. The little buggers are the most blood thirsty.

k, you can all come out of hiding now... I showered. I thought since this is my 3rd day of ick sick it would make me feel better. I still feel icky.

Think about it...kangaroos...those are wierd...whales....lil bugs...everything under the sun. gee, we humans are nosey.

We got attacked my swarms lookin at the wild ponies at asateque island....now those suckers hurt.

Florida is the home of the ginormous prehistoric pterodactyl mosquitoes.....Thats why we dont' live there anymore. That and the flying cockroaches and the fire ants and the poisonous spiders and the alligators and the wild hogs...don't forget the wild hogs!

I was glad to move away from those as a kid. And don't forget the ginormous banana spiders. Ran into one of those in a dark and spooky clump of trees and developed a lifelong fear of spiders.

They're the only bug you've got up there.

Y'all shoud've seen this woman taking pictures of bugs - moths, butterflies, millipedes, crickets... because she'd never seen them before. Blows my mind.

And apparently rain is always cold in AK, even in summer. [We did not under any circumstances go out and play in the rain when she visited VA just to prove the rain and puddles were warm]

Virginia sounds good, as long as I don't have to live even remotely close to a metropolitan area. Is that possible?

Laree, I subscribed to your blog. Had no idea sparkles lives in northern MN - whereabouts? For all I know, we're neighbors!

We have bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. TICKS! Lots and lots of ticks. Ew. Ticks.

We have moths and butterflies and I only took pictures of the pretty ones. And the millipede, it made a lovely mustache!

We also have really pretty dragon flies.

Did it rain while I was there?
