My 9-year old cat does the same thing. But I bet Jacob doesn't shed like crazy while chewing...

No shedding. Although Ella gave him his first haircut yesterday!

Exactly.

However, currently, it's hilarious to get the 3 y/o to STARE at the tantrum throwing 10 y/o (like full on the floor, kicking and screaming until he got the toy he wanted) and loudly claim "MOMMY!!! He's being a BIG baby!" and she doesn't quite yet get the concept of inside voice or to not loudly voice what every adult in the area is thinking. I don't know why the parents of the tantrum child thought mine was a problem. Ok, I did tell her to keep her voice down, but nothing else.

It's also how she gave up her paci. Walked over to an 6-7 y/o who was screaming bloody murder about not getting a cookie. Handed her the paci saying "Babies need. I big." and walked away.

Can you tell hissy fits and whining are so not accepted behavior here, so the kids learn EARLY to not bother?

Other people's kids drive me nuts, too. A 10-year-old tantruming over a toy and the parents gave it to them?!?!!! That's disgusting.

I love the 3yo giving her paci to an older kid!

My children learned very early on not to even try that sort of thing. My personal favorite are the children who actually hit or punch their parents. I have seen that a few times in the last month. If one of my children had every tried that I would knock them into the middle of the next week. Talk about pet peeves.

Belle, did you know that Algae (ChickenAlgebra) is incubating her billionth child(ren)? She used to have just a million kids, but then decided to hatch twins. She was pretty nauseous last week. And it was a pukefest week. We missed you.

She was not naseous. She was nauseated. If she was nauseous she would have made US want to puke....and I reserve the right to that privilege when I am regaling you with tales of my perfect(ly disgusting) DH.

You are completely correct and I am humbly admitting my wrongnimity.

Exactly. It was pretty easy to tell why the 10 y/o was throwing a fit. It worked, duh. That's why when ours try it at 2-3 range, we let them throw themselves on the floor and stroll away down the aisle. They don't get the toy/treat they wanted and they don't get the attention. They VERY quickly learn it's not worth it.

She was not quite 2 when she handed over the paci. It was driving us bonkers to get her to give up that stupid thing. Oh well, it's gone and that's what matters now.

I'm not sure how my 3 y/o has turned into a smart alec.

Algae, it's a good thing you have so many offspring, the world needs more children with smart parents like you.

I am going to take advantage of this glorious day and go for a walk around the block. Back in a few! (Okay, 12 minutes to be exact.)

How did 8 on the ground become a million? Insanity, sure. But a million? I so do not have a TV show, nor will I.

Plus, so not my fault there is 2 of 'em this go around.. That's DH's fault. All his fault.
