Lesson learned: my quail, who will demolish a spaghetti squash or giant zucchini in a few minutes, are not so fond of pumpkins. I sat in the quail pen for 10 minutes waiting for somebody to come over and peck.

Finally!

But no... apparently there was something tasty UNDER the pumpkin.

Pretty quail, what type are the light colored ones?

My chickens didn't care for the raw pumpkin, but they'll pig out on it once it's baked

Great picture! If any of you find your fowl not interested, sprinkle some crumbles, scratch or pellets on them, that should get them eating it.

Mine just pecked off the "good" stuff and left the pumpkin :gig They just might be a tiny bit picky.

Bob (the redhead) and the girl on the left are golden Manchurian — almost no speckles. The gold girl on the right is a cross with normal brown so she has more pattern.

hmmm.... I think I’ll try giving them baked pumpkin and see. Thanks!

It's worth a try, I think. Hope that does it for your quail!
