That's not technically a molt, so I would say it doesn't count unfortunately.

I would think it is technically a molt, though? Molting is the process of shedding old feathers to make way for new feathers, and what Nero70002 is describing is a juvenile molt.

Here’s us Waffles my Rouen duck. She’s having a rough go of it. Although they do molt more discreetly than the chickens.

Oh, I’m so looking forward to seeing more entries for this contest as it is my favorite! My previous contest winner is (wisely) starting an early (for her) molt after a horrible summer, hopefully signaling the end of her troubles for this year. My white Muscovy has discretely been losing a few feathers here and there. My Rouens haven’t started, but they are due any time. I have a new Rouen this year. We will see if she has contest potential!
