Thank you! New to this lol so many different variations it makes my head spin and to find good description it's seemingly impossible for me...or I'm failing completely to understand! I need a crash course in feathering 😂
Yeah, plumage color names don’t make sense. “Brown red” isn’t really brown or red, it’s more of a “gold black.” That’s why I prefer the term “gold birchen” since its more accurate or “red birchen” in the case of Marans since they have the mahogany gene.

Gold Birchen would make a lot more sense! It probably would make it easier to if Birchen was called Silver Birchen as well just to clarify even further. I just learned the other day that White Crested Chocolate Polish are actually dun. :rolleyes:
