Ended Official BYC 2024 Summer Fair—Baked Goods Show

Here is my entry.
I call it Black Forest Cherry. The cherries are from a can. The liquid from can is part of the hydration. Additional water is added as needed to make the desired dough consistency.

Another entry.
This is peach cake. The peaches are canned. I have made it with fresh peaches before,,, But all I had was canned.
I wing the recipe from memory. I adjust hydration by viewing the consistency of dough as it is in Stand mixer.
I finally gently fold in the fruit, and bake. I want the fruit to be in visible pieces.

I am an amateur at it. Just started baking about 5 years ago. I use some of my moms' recipes from long ago.
But I do try my best,, ,, Yes, a Scout leader here for many years image_2024-07-23_180652141.png

Now that it is HOT,, I limit my baking to times when needed for a party, or family gathering.
